Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bedside. Have a pain in my back since just before I got into bed and I’m trying to decide if I should brave it or get up and get some painkillers.

    Doggies check
    Cats check
    Coffee check

Heading to work. Kiddies on stage today ... they are hilarious. We’ve been practicing for the last week and they’re getting worse!!! They are telling EVERYONE so the place will be packed! I’ve decided to scratch this morning’s rehearsal ... no point! Going to adopt my usual mantra and keep smiling no matter what! Fingers crossed! Have a good day all!

After my appointment yesterday I received a missed call and voice note from private rooms. Call back as I’d just been in with nurse and it’s the consultants secretary telling me I need an app to see consultant ASAP

I can’t get my head around this condition. To me it’s an inconvenience but they seem to take it very seriously which makes me worry it could make me really sick.

But for now I’m in work to pay for this appointment, robbed

Homeside just had a handy few hours to do at the coalface this morning, so fire blazing, racing on tv and about to warm up a lovely pizza that I got in the deli in town on way home, 'tis a day to stay indoors in the heat.

At the kitchen table about to start hand knitting a blanket for my friends baby. The baby is due in a few weeks and I wanted to make something personal for him/her.
I also have a stew on the stove bubbling away. Making the most of this wet, miserable day.

Had the nicest coffee ever... just from a steel French press so it has to be down to the beans. Weird day though. Tense, edgy vibe today. That's before any caffeine touched my lips.

I'll watch that fully later, rushing around hither and thither today :) Just had a quick look and can say I've never had silt / grounds in my cup and people have told me that's why they won't use a cafetiere. I can only guess their filter's bent out of shape or something?

Home side after opening a surprise from OH. Now plotting something in return. The grass isn't greener on the other side, it's greener where you water it :)

Was outdoors for the morning - wasn't half as cold as I'd expected (I'd brought about three extra layers just in case), but my goodness I seem to have dodged a (very, very wet) bullet by getting home by 2pm

Thinking of just taking to the bed for the afternoon (I had a very early start is my excuse!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,696 ✭✭✭Pretzill

It's miserably cold up here. Dark and gloomy too. Had to go to the Doctors with Mr P earlier and was glad to get home. Why is it I always feel so tired this side of the year. I could cuddle up and watch movies for the afternoon but I'm stuck at the desk, working.

I think it's something like seasonal affective disorder that makes people tired in winter. Lack of daylight. Just makes me slightly low. I do have a keen appreciation of the seasons and natural changes but being honest Winter doesn't have as much to commend it in Ireland.. this weather's just dreich. Look at it. Like a smelly soggy grey blanket sagging down on top of the rooves and trees. Discovered a cure! Drop a brick on your foot. Was wedding a window shut from outside. Im only half joking as apart from the distraction from negative thought/ bad mood, I've had a flood of endorphins that left me warm all over. Might make it part of the self care routine lol. Inside with tea listening to the washing machine spinning and feeling much more Zen ( love white nouse)

OMG, I'm watching back the Only Connect I recorded on Monday night - it's not even the end of round 1 and I've got 2 - TWO!!!! - answers that the teams didn't!!!

Was absolutely frozen earlier, am now almost passing out with the heat from the stove that I may have slightly overfilled.......

Oh my goodness, this with bells on!! (first part, not the dropping bricks on yer foot bit - ouch!)

As the years go on, I'm finding it increasingly hard to deal with winter, the short days and the endless dreary dark nights. I used to love winter and bad weather, even kind of look forward to it - I still don't mind if it's spectacularly bad - today's rain, for example, was kind of entertaining (only because I wasn't out in it!) - but the four or five months ahead of us of grey, cold, dark days, more night than day - has started getting me down already, and it hasn't even started properly yet!

If anyone has any coping stragegies, I'm all ears!!!

The little rays of sunshine in here will undoubtedly help :)
