    This is mental.

    Why are there not tens of millions of Americans marching against their ridiculous gun laws?

    Part of me thinks that the horse has bolted to such an extent (or there's that many guns out there already) that changing the gun laws now wouldn't make a not of difference.

    Anyway hopefully casualties are at a minimum, particularly amongst kids. All loss of life is tragic, but when government inaction leads to the needless deaths of kids then you have to wonder what the actual f*** is going on.

    You need a license to get a truck at least as pass some sort of test.

    Agreed. The checks only go so far. How can you tell if someone buying a gun is mentally unstable or not?

    Guns are designed to kill as many people in a short time.

    After the truck attacks they put up barriers to stop them. After gun attacks all you get is thoughts and prayers.

    Concrete barriers are akin to everyone wearing bullet proof vests. It doesn’t solve a problem. Guaranteed this is from a high powered semi automatic rifle. Nobody needs those. Gun laws need reform for sure. My point still stands though. If you get someone crazy enough they’ll kill just as many with a car as with a gun.

    Medical checks will show up nothing I’m afraid. A lot of these shooters are young white males with no criminal/mental history. You’d learn more about them from their browser history than them.

    Barely a day goes by where someone isn't shot in the US
    Pretty much inured to it at this point and so it seems are the people to prevent it
    Be all forgotten about in a few days til the next one.

    Glad we agree, make it much harder for these nutjobs to buy guns.

    Then if they use vehicles start introducing technology/legislation to stop that and so on.

    Just to be clear I am 100% pro gun. But absolutely not high powered rifles. Ideally the second amendment should be limited to handguns and hunting rifles. I believe in the right to defend yourself.

    Will never happen in the US.

    A fire where a few cars burned in Cork is RTE's main story, not a single mention of 30 people being shot dead in USA, you have to love the massively overmanned organisation with zero weekend cover.
