Some rainfall totals from WOW observations:

    Bunclody - 45.4mm
    Naas - 42.9mm
    Oak Park - 40.3mm
    Wexford Wildfowl Reserve - 35.6mm
    Thomastown (Mt. Juliet) - 35.1mm

    https://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/

These sort of daily totals were so common here during the 2nd half of July & August that I'm almost numb to their significance.

Nice morning in Dublin 5. 50% of average sunshine or less this week doesn't sound good!

Such a lovely morning! I know ; due to deluge but have enjoyed the early brightness immensely. "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may. " etc! revel in now! west mayo offshore

Nice sunny morning here but it's only just gone beyond 10 degrees at 10.3C. I've just been reminded by MT Cranium that we've just passed the Autumn equinox a few minutes ago so some people say we've just gone into Autumn.

Miserable morning in cork city. Was lashing around 7:30 and now has been drizzle since

Solid rain that clearly intends to stay a while. So fire lit for cheer and against wet chill.. Snugged in, and no need to be out again today... west mayo offshore

Dull and wet in Castlebar, but it is really the first time we have had persistent rain during morning/afternoon hours in nearly a week.

I don't think I've seen the word 'thunder' mentioned so many times in a Met Eireann national forecast. https://www.met.ie/forecasts/national-forecast

There will be no shortage of rain over the next week, could be more trouble for areas already effected from yesterday's flooding.

The rain is heavier now. Thee's been 1.4mm recorded now in the last hour.

Breezy and sun trying to emerge, but wind veiling it with scudding clouds. I see we are due heavy rain later again...but a peaceful enough autumnal day . west mayo offshore.

It was like high summer and just a few days later it’s like the depths of winter. Definitely a winter sun holiday before Christmas.

Not too bad today in Letterkenny, a mix of sun and cloud until mid afternoon when light rain started, some spits of rain all evening but no worse than most days all summer
