Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't know if you mind sharing what you scored and how that relates to your merit list place??

    I scored 81.25% and I’m between merit number 1-20

FT2 but my merit list position is between 250 - 300. I thought I would have been much higher to be fair.

  • Registered Users Posts: 66 ✭✭Mcfluffers

If anyone hasn’t received their merit order yet, my email went into “promotions”

I only found it by searching psni

  • Registered Users Posts: 87 ✭✭JC12250

I got a ML of 700-750. I am quietly confident that even with a high ML number I could still be in with a shout with people not successful in the PSNI stages.

Really surprised me when I looked at how many didn’t pass all stages in the last campaign.

    SHOW OFF!!

WELL DONE YOU! Assume you were in the 1st fast track group and are now at the tail end of psni managed stages?

That figure doesn't mean 412 didn't pass all stages, it includes people who withdrew their application. A lot of people with low merit numbers apply for the next campaign and end up being on 2 merit lists, some people get jobs elsewhere, personal reasons, get fed up waiting etc and withdraw

    Haha thank you!

I was actually in the last fast track group as I scored on the low end in my IST so I was one of the final groups to do the assessment centre, was scheduled for October but unfortunately got pushed back to December due to covid.

I only have my medical which is booked for the next few weeks and still waiting on my vetting to clear. Not getting too excited yet until I pass those stages but still super proud with the assessment centre score!

All works of the IST which put you in order of when you did your AC which then put you into a FT group. I am FT3 but ahead of you on the ML but due to you being on the earlier FT group it jumps you ahead, if that makes sense

That’s true! Just surprised at how high the number was.

It is surprising and when you see we've only got our merit list and 20 people are already in that category. It's good for us all to remain optimistic throughout all this, it will be worth the wait!

I'm FT1 and 20-40 on the merit list, still waiting to clear the managed stages...namely my vetting, which I was called in for an interview over very recently. So there might even be more in the same boat as myself. Also for anyone still waiting on their vetting, I was told the panel aren't reconvening for another 4ish weeks so you might not see any vetting passes until after then, which might give an idea of rough GV start times taking into consideration the notice they give you upon offer too :)

Got my number! 300-350. Also the email states that this group is due to be contacted next for physical and vetting. Thought I’d share so that we’ve all got an idea of timings and not sure what others emails said. Congrats to everyone getting their places- hopefully the next stages will fly by!

I’m in ML 500-550 and been advised in the email that are on my batch for the managed stages

400 - 450 and been advised as well, wouldn't put too much stake in that paragraph by the looks of it.

860-900 for me i won’t be holding my breath for the list to be exhausted that far down. I can’t see anymore than 200 not passing the managed stages.

Don't lose hope, I was in that bracket for 1810 and I'm going into GV soon. If you pass all the managed stages then I can't see them not making you an offer.

Received my PCA date at long last. Best of luck to everyone now the ball is rolling!

If you pass your PCA are you informed there and then of your medical date or do you wait a while on an email for a medical date?

Only asking as I assume with covid this has probably slowed the medical process down and maybe a build up of candidates awaiting medicals.

You get your medical date separately. If you pass your PCA, you will get your medical health questionnaire on the day, which you fill out and get signed by your GP to bring to your medical.

IMHO I would be confident anyone who passes the managed stages will be the offered a place to start training over next 18 months in merit order. I think the list will be exhausted so don’t lose hope, it will happen. All the best and good luck.

800-820, hoping they exhaust the ML this year... Great to see so many people getting their results and delighted it’s finally all going forward now! Good luck everyone!

Are the vetting forms completed electronically or would they be posted out in hard copy?

Congrats to everyone today been given your number. Been given my PCA date, happy enough with where I am on the merit list 300-350. I understand there is a familiarisation day and I will definitely be going to that however is there any other way someone would recommend preparing for this? I am fit and healthy it would be more on technique I'm looking help on.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

My technique went clean out the window after the first lap! Just be careful not to knock anything over, I knocked the pole coming down off the steps on the final lap and I honestly thought i was going to tap out having to re do that section when I was already busted.

Don’t listen to anyone that says “it’s 4 minutes 30 seconds, it’s easy” because it’s definitely not, the air in the gym is pretty poor which makes it harder!

Exactly what McFluffer said, its probably the quickest 4:30 you will experience because you don't know where you are time wise and flat to the floor from the word go and the air again isn't great you come out of it feeling it in your chest, I would say cardio is your friend and to bust yourself when training for the PCA. But do remember that if you fail the first time you get a second crack at it.

First time post but been following the thread for a few weeks now.

I got a ML position of 700-800 and replied to the email just to ask the situation and what would be a rough idea for getting vetting forms, PCA and medical.

Someone from recruitment then gave me a call and said they couldn't possibly give an exact date but said that I'd be looking at getting processed either next year or the year after. Good scenario would be next year. That was all they were able to say on it so that gives people an idea of the wait they have ahead

Anyone have any experience appealing colour vision decision? Have seen someone on here before but unable to send PM to them.

I have already provided report stating I'm suitable from optician but still issues.

Congrats to all with the ML email today - we have all worked hard to get to this stage. I hope all of us on the ML get into GV. 300-350 ML position :) , PCA booked. Buzzing and at the same time it all is starting to feel real now. :) Chin up and good luck with the PSNI managed stages. Don't lose hope. Things may happen quicker than expected. xx

It would usually be about 50 but they seem to be doing reduced intakes at the minute with covid.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Howdyfolks

Found my merit list email, it's the first one to make it into the junk folder!
    200-250, well happy with that.

Got the medical next, it says to wear suitable stuff for medical, what did you guys wear? Like similar to PCA? Assuming they will be poking and prodding so need to be very flexible stuff instead of jeans/ suit?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Elc89

Anyone a rough idea of the time frame from completing your PCA to doing your medical?

Do you get plenty of notice before your medical is what I'm essentially asking.

I probably sound like a broken record but just have a few things I need to clear up before my medical.

    PCA next month.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Howdyfolks

The notice you get for medical seems to vary but seems mostly you get a couple weeks

  • Registered Users Posts: 18 Sky56

Jeans and a t-shirt were fine for me when attending the medical

Roughly mine was about 2-3 weeks roughly after the PCA might just depend on how quick they get through people etc with the bigger groups starting to come in with covid restrictions lifting a little.
