Yes I went to the familiarisation day and it was definitely worth it. If you can get off work, go to it. Wear the same thing that you will wear to the actual pca so tshirt, trackies and trainers. At the familiarisation you get to have a look around the course to see how it is set out, you also get to try each section of it as much as you want, but you can't do a full lap or time yourself.

Absolutely worth going to! Really calms the nerves, I’d imagine if you didn’t go you would feel a bit more overwhelmed on the day not knowing how the course looks in person. You do get a few minutes on the actual test day to have a look around but you can spend as much time as you want checking each section out on the familiarisation day

Don’t know if it’s normal but that’s what’s happened to me! Waiting on the vetting forms hopefully any day now

I know the answer is here somewhere but darned if I can find it so I'll ask again.

Roughly how long is the wait between doing the medical and SMT and getting results? Am I right in thinking between 2 +4 weeks?

I got my medical results after one week or so and SMT about a week after that. However, there's folks on here who have been getting their SMT results faster than that. Someone the other day got medical and SMT results on the same day.

Not sure about the 20 mins above ^^ but in this campaign, people waited between 1-4 weeks after PCA. Most for FT2 was around 3 weeks, myself included

This was just before covid, I did PCA on the Friday and had my medical date on the Tuesday.

For anyone who was unsuccessful this time round, just in case you weren’t aware, the belfast international airport police are recruiting. They do the exact same training course as the PSNI in garnerville. Just another option

Damn, that's brilliant. It hasn't been like that this time round. 4 week wait in-between and then 4 weeks following the email to the actual date itself
