Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Still very slow at getting the ball out of the ruck. Losing a lot of opportunities because of it.

well i thought it was his best game this year - and needed

The performance of the day that least warrants a trip to Japan is Reynals.

James Ryan must be man if the match. Been the dominant forward on the pitch all game.
    Definitely
Think he is the captain out there now?
    Actually Probably Ruddock

Henshaw has been immense for me - how he has been missed

Crashing out of the group stages is guaranteed now.

He is a beast and without a doubt one of our most important players

Overall, you have to say Ireland look pretty good. They're still pretty toothless in attack, but as long as they keep within 10 points or so of their opposition, they can still beat anyone in the world.

Great performance. Low enough score, 2 missed kicks and a win. Not bad at all.

Getting the ball away from rucks. He hesitated then with ball in hand.

If I were Australia I’d be chatting to watch that Welsh backline, keep them behind the back foot and their in trouble.

    Kilcoyne has been brilliant.

Great hit by Killer to finish the match. Much better performance to head off on a high now.

Good to see how much it meant to kilcoyne at end there. Roll on the RWC

    Dave Kilcoyne you beast

Fair play to the Welsh defense for holding us out for that long

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Excellent, disciplined performance up front. I'm still rather concerned about how hard we have to work to score trys and how we didn't score at all with all that possession in the final 10.

Probably not the actual #1 but they're clearly a very good side and in the mix

Rucks when Wales are slowing the ball down?

    Yep, all McGrath’s fault.

    Stander to 6.

James Ryan is a God stamping on ants

Good man rory best of luck in your retirement.

Good win. For all that physicality, Ireland are quite blunt in attack.

Maybe holding back a few strike moves, rightly.

    What a fückin hit.
    Lovely way to finish
Killer is probably the most improved player over the last year

POM could be a big loser today.

Notice how the director decided to crop out the RTE microphone....

Good win, with plenty still to improve upon. Would be worried if I were a Wales fan, not sure how far they can go in the WC with no ball carriers.

I'm sure the team and setup pay as much heed to this as me- today was a big improvement , but we are a long way from being number one - the WC will decide that - but much more confident of breaking our quater hoodoo now

Kilcoyne is surely the starting loosehead after his last few performances

Stellar performance, brilliant intensity, inventive play, pin point tactics and most importantly cohesiveness man for a man, it seems like we're coming into form at the perfect time. Lineout also steadily improved as game progressed. Great to see.

Often said but what a unifying force rugby is on the island, especially when we think of the jingoism so rampant all around us.

Much better for Ireland, but still plenty of things to ponder. A bit toothless in attack in the 2nd half and the lineout is a little bit of a worry, but overall much better sharpness and intensity. Murray had a good outing.

Kilcoyne makes some impact, he broke tackles, broke runners by tackling and wrecked the tightheads elbow in about 5 minutes of being on the pitch. His S&C is showing

Fair play Rory Best...hard to believe it is such a long stint!

It's easy surmise what you'd do in a given situation when not involved. He obviously thought Jackson was innocent.

Given that we've had a terrible 2019, it's a huge bonus to see the team suddenly start to hit form and play well

I've been really impressed with him and he seems leaner. However Healy is ahead of him and even if he wasn't, Kilcoyne might make a better impact off the bench.
