Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Coleman in acres there to take the goal kick from Randolph who waves him away and hoofs it up the pitch. Try to retain some possession FFS

We can barely complete a pass. Technically we are shocking. Only a matter of time before they score.
Hourihane is stringing a few together at least.
    Baffled as always about Glenn!
4 passes in a row from Glenn!!
    A PB!!

Can't believe Whelan didn't get a yellow there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 907 ✭✭✭whatawaster81

That's exactly what Glenn is in the team for dirty

    Stephens very bad

Ireland start to get dizzy if their passing gets into the high single figures.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

Whelan looks worryingly short of pace.

He's 35. Shouldnt have been in the team 3 years ago let alone now.

We will regret not having long in the squad yet.

Wtf was I thinking that it was going to be 2-2! Struggling here big time the passes back to Randolph to punt it straight back to the Swiss is brain dead, Stevens very poor! We can’t string a pass together be a miracle if make half time 0-0

Taking them to a long time to leach the O'Neill inferiority complex out of their system.

The chance for Ireland to score on the counter attack break is there, it's just a pity that about 9 of our players are terrible with the ball at their feet and don't know what to do when they have it and can't make a pass or shoot.

Swiss pressing hard, Ireland be struggling to play even if they wanted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

If they were to score we couldn't say it's undeserved. We need to get on the ball as kick-and-chase ain't going to cut it here.

In fairness to Mick he encourages his midfielders to at least try and pass the ball. They just struggle to do it.

Pity about that McGoldrick effort but that was more like it.

O’Neill still getting blamed when they play ****e football under someone else? Bizarre.

Difference in technique is unsurprising but still shocking

    Is long injured?

No, he can’t make Southampton squad ATM.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Stevens having a shocker. All he needs is a second yellow to complete the first half.

    Is long injured?

No. Shocking he is not there. Came on in Southamptons last PL game.

A much better outlet for the type of ****e we play than McGoldrick.

Very boring, and that's just Jim Beglin.

Bizarre me eye. That's how far the standard had fallen. They're gradually improving under McCarthy, a man who instills belief in his players instead of publicly ridiculing them.

    McClean is awful

    McClean ffs.

McClean so limited in those moments.

McClean so limited in those moments.

He is so unreliable when he has time and space. A real off-the-cuff kinda player

They’re not improving one iota. Beating Gibraltar is hardly something to be shouting about.

That was nearly brilliant from McGoldrick. needed a better ball.

He has scored though. Unlike any of our current striking options.

We do look like we could get a chance. As long as we keep it nil nil

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

We’ve actually had two good enough chances despite being technically completely outclassed.

Best chances have fallen to Ireland.

    McClean brutal. Duffy brilliant .

Duffy is genuine premier league class. He even scores more goals than our forwards.

Ray Treacy has also scored, should we bring him back? Long isn't the player for this game. What chances have we created that he would have scored? McGoldrick much better option, he will create for others.
