Reception in northern ireland

I am with 3. I was in Enniskillen today. The minute I crossed from cavan to fermanagh I lost my phone signal. Annoying as I like using Google maps. My data roaming was on yet no signal. What can be done to remedy this the next time. Do Vodafone cover the entire island?

Did you try manually selecting a network, it's possible it won't automatically connect if there wasn't sufficient 3 NI coverage in that location.

Make sure that you haven't roaming turned off.
In the case of Google maps, you should just download the whole island while on wifi and then most of the functions work whether you have a signal or not.
