    I remembered when my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was with her in the oncologists office when she was told she had 6 months to live. It was shocking, we were both numb with grief. After, we left and went home for a cup of tea. We sat in the kitchen in silence, crying. At one point she got up and went to the press and took down a bag, and brought it to the table. She opened it up and took out a packet of Jaffa Cakes. She offered me one, and took one for herself. I said to her “Fücking Jaffa Cakes? You don’t deserve that 6 months!”
