Next RPG I want to try is called Delta Green.

The game sees you as part of an X-files/Men in Black style organization that send you in to investigate weird locations and reports. Characters often end up dead or insane.

All of its adventures have won awards so we'll be playing through one of them.

Just so people know, this is quite a lethal game. So we'll have spare characters ready for when characters die.

I gather the Combat section is just the word RUN! in bold.

It starts with "Combat can take your agent out of the game quickly and permanently. Don't engage in it lightly"

I'll put up the three pages for char gen tomorrow. It's quite quick.

It's likely you'll need a few extras for me alright :D

Making a character is described here on p.16-19:

It's a very simple char gen system, most of your skills are picked out for you.

The system is very simple as well. Roll under your skill to succeed. If you roll under: doubles or 1 is a critical. If you roll over: doubles or 100 is a critical failure. Opposing rolls are just who rolls better, but there are possibilities like both failing since they failed their roll.

(It's the same system as Call of Cthulhu, Runequest and Mythras)

Combat has a few little options (like aiming adding +20 to your weapon skill) that are given on p.34

Just a bump for this if any people new to the forum are interested. I can give people a character premade if they wish.

    Okay lets go.

    Basic STATS are:

    Strength
    Constitution
    Dexterity
    Intelligence
    Power
    Charisma

Most of these are obvious in what they mean, except for Power which is basically Willpower.

Their maximum value for a human is 20, but only NPCs have that value. Go to p.16 here and pick one of three sets of values for them (one of the rows in the table):

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/79qsthyq1ubqtm2/Delta%20Green%20Need%20to%20Know%20-%202016-03-27%201000.pdf?dl=0

After that pick a career from the list on p.17 and 18. The careers come with skill values listed.

It's a very simple system. Roll under your skill value on a d100 to succeed, rolling doubles like 33 means you did very well. Rolling over means you fail, doubles when rolling over is very bad.

Ok I'm gonna be a Special Operator.

    Agent Narco - FREEZE!

    Strength - 14
    Constitution - 15
    Dexterity - 11
    Intelligence - 10
    Power - 12
    Charisma - 10

    I.... think I did it right :o

Cool that's perfect Necro. The last step I didn't mention above is to just bump up the skills. This reflects your specialist training or personal training off the job. You get to bump up the skills eight times, by 20% each time. You can do this to the same skill a few times if you want as long as it doesn't go over 80%.

That might take a bit longer, I like all the skills :D

Ah sure it's a lethal game and there's only the two of ye. Let's just give an extra 20% to each one reflecting that Narco got intensive training for an extra year before Delta Green gave him a mission.
