Listening to an interview with him on cycling podcast after yesterday and the way he was speaking it sounds like he's had no contact or support from B.M over the last few months

Great win there in the junior mens race.

    Gotta feel for this guy........

He eventually got sorted and finished the race in 60th place.

Brilliant ride by the Americans who recently rode the Junior Tour. They were so so strong today.

    I nearly cried watching that.

    Fair fcuks on finishing.

That's absolutely scandalous! The amount of cars that passed him. Neutral service?? team cars from car 4 back if neutral is tied up?
    Poor guy!

Delighted he got sorted and finished, better days ahead.

Took me some serious PI work to discover his first name is Germán

You don't have to use team sponsored stuff for the worlds though. Why wouldn't he use what he used last year.

Your contract is to ride what you are paid to ride. Hence why we've seen riders previously who are moving teams get into hot water at pre December training camps on new team bikes or new team kit.

Another crash in the junior womens race, both Irish riders involved but were able to continue but the pace has picked up.

Maeve is still in the main bunch with 15km to go, bruised and battered from the crash but up to the fore.

Actually they are both still in there.

Yeah, but riders are free to choose their own equipment because they are not there on behalf of sponsors or teams, they are there on behalf of their national federation and this is a UCI rule. The teams and sponsors know this. IF the cyclists do, the teams definitely do.

Crash at the finish just in front of Maeve

EDIT: 25th place in the end for Maeve due the crash, couldn't make out which of them it was that had to run the bike to the line.

That is not nice viewing! Germán is pretty good. Placed 15th in the ITT. Did that break he was in stay clear/produce the winning move?

There was a break of 5 from that bunch I think and the winner came from that

What a mess! Never seen so many crashes in one, single stage race. And all in (mostly) dry conditions.

Any info what Katie Clouse was DSQ for?

Cannot find anything about that. :o

Edit: looks like men's U23 race became brutal, weatherwise.

    Excessive slipstreaming behind car.

They've trimmed a lap off the U23 mens. Not sure why they didn't start it earlier given the juniors finished just after 11am.

Ben Healy trying to bridge to the break now with 2 others, right move for him I think.

The break might make it all the way - all the major nations are involved except the USA.
Healy is in a good position.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,561 ✭✭✭Eamonnator
