Nope what memory you buy with an iphone is what you are stuck with , they have reduced the newer phones , the 8 with 64 is now selling at approx 550 euros , my oh is thinking of upgrading to this now that the price has dropped .

If its a 6, and not a 6S then it wont get iOS13 next week so it would be time to start thinking about a change.

Apple don't allow microSD cards, but most other manufacturers do, so look around before getting another iPhone if storage is important to you.

If it’s just photos and videos, use google photos.

I have the iPhone 8!now and have loads of storage. But I had the same problem with the 6, I purchased cloud storage for €.99 per month and had loads on the 6.
32 gb is very little because lots of it is used just to service the phone, but 64gb on the 8 is more than enough for me

Just get a cloud storage service.

Better for back up too, it's not a good idea to use devices as sole item for storing photos.

This, plus iCloud is only 99c a month for 50GB.

Ah ok. Could be an option. So just transfer all photos to iCloud. And they all there as opposed to on the phone. Then anytime you need to access photos, you need a network connection I presume.

Is this process hard to do?

No it's not hard to do.

Won't you have a network connection on your phone?

You are right! To be honest, I've had the same issue.

True. I presume iCloud is 99.999999% reliable and safe and all that.

In the same boat myself. Where would be the cheapest most reliable place to buy an iPhone 8?

Yes, what are you worried about? Hacking?

It’s a great way to backup, but it’s cloud storage, it comes with inherent risks. You have to weigh up the pros/cons.

Yeah and losing some very important photos of babies etc.
if worried about that sort of thing follow the 3-2-1 rule

You are more at risk of losing them when just on a device than on a service like iCloud.

Hacking, don't worry about it, unless you're a celeb with sex tape.:D

That’s not exactly how it works. If you have enough cloud storage you can turn on iCloud Photos. This copies the photos to iCloud storage, but they are still on your phone. They are synchronised, so if you delete a photo from your phone it will also delete from iCloud.

If you are running low on phone storage, you can switch on an option to optimise the phone storage. This leaves the high-resolution original photo in the cloud, and creates a low-resolution copy on the phone.

Bear in mind, you will need a reliable Wi-Fi connection to use iCloud photos properly.

If you have a computer you could copy the photos there to create a backup.
