Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. THe N30 Pro2 NES version is €24 on amazon France.
€30 including delivery to Ireland, or €56 for two of them delivered.

Do any of those include the 8bit dongel that you can use to connect Xbox one controllers or is that sold separately?

Great pads too. Pity the pro version isn't there as that has analogue sticks and gyro controls.

Those ones are the old (discontinued) SN30, which are great, but only have D pad and 6 buttons (And start/select of course).

Worth noting, the Pro versions have analogue sticks, but no gyro.
You need to make sure it's the Pro2 or Pro+ versions for that!

    Pro: https://www.8bitdo.com/sn30-pro-g-classic-or-sn30-pro-sn/
    Pro2: https://www.8bitdo.com/n30pro-2/
    Pro+: https://www.8bitdo.com/sn30-pro-plus/

    I've collected over the years a SN30, NES30 Pro, and a SN30 Pro+.
The Pro+ is a big leap in quality and feel from the NES30 Pro even.

That's good to know. I've an old NES30 and it's great but the button options are too limited for modern games. Probably worth getting the Pros unless you're only using it for retro gaming

The Switch. Apparently one of the 8bit dongles allows you to use Xbox One controllers fairly perfectly. I have two Xbox One controllers already so that would be ideal. It's probably a different dongle though

no you need the usb retro connector - which they dont have in GS it looks like.

The retro connector they have is just for the classic consoles.

this is the one you need

Argos have Constructor Plus for €24.99 or 2 for €18

Seems to be a code in a box version and not a cartridge

Game is €19.99 on eshop so 2 codes for €18 is a good saving

I think you can try it for free if you sign up to Stadia. It's one of the free games with the one month Pro trial. If you want to test it out yourself that could be a free way to do it.

Picked up a clearance copy of Shovel Knight Treasure Trove for Switch in Naas Smyths for €25 (not a mahoosive bargain I realise). There was one more copy on the shelf (and it’s not listed on the website)

Switch BOTW Messenger bag reduced to €17.99 in Argos (seems to be stock at a good few stores). Comes with a portable carry case inside too!

This is now down to €13.99, but stock appears to be a lot thinner on the ground.

Hopefully they ship. There was a few with minus prices too didn't bother they'd certainly be cancelled. Their site is being hammered. There own credit card page wouldn't work. Worked ok through paypal.

I can safely say unravel 2 is a bargain puzzle platformer for that price.
I got it in February for that price& I've replayed a few times with my kids in coop mode.
The graphics & music really top it off.
Single player mode works well on it too.

Anyone played Valkyries chronicles, the first one. Seems quite cheap at the moment on the eshop? I do like RPGs but don't have 100 hrs to put into a game. What sort of length is it? Can it be easily played in pick and play chunks of 20 mins or so?

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Eduard Khil

I've played a few minutes of Valkyria earlier today my first time ever playing this type you watch or skip character development fmvs then do the mission the price is very goodbut maybe look at a YouTube video of the first mission to see if it's your type of game first.

In saying that the missions are very pick up put down type so if that's what you're after this definitely ticks that box

Finished it a year or more ago, brilliant game and pretty cheap at the moment too. You should get around 25 - 30 hours out of it to complete campaign. Its split up into maps and they vary from 20 to 30 minutes long I think. Pretty sure you can save during a battle too so you don't have to commit to completing a map in a sitting
