Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Vodafone (SIRO) fair usage policy

This evening I had a visit from a pair of door-to-door salespeople from Vodafone who were pushing their FTTH product over SIRO.

I told them the only reason I am still with Virgin is that all of the SIRO providers have a 1 TB "fair usage policy", and that Virgin doesn't (as I've been close to and even above that amount at times already), to which one of them replied that the FUP had been removed (and backed up this claim by showing me an internal email making that exact statement). He even insisted this change applies to all SIRO providers, not just Vodafone.

As I'm not one to buy at the door, I didn't commit to anything, but thought this, if correct, sounded quite promising.

I've tried to look for corroborating evidence of this online, but haven't found anything yet. As these kinds of terms are difficult to find when they do exist, I'm guessing they'll be even more so if they don't (though it seems to me that Vodafone should want to announce it quite loudly), which makes it pretty much impossible to determine if anything has in fact changed.

So I'm wondering, has anybody seen, read or heard similar claims? I know I could give them a call, but I suspect I'd be none the wiser, as this is the kind of detail that call centre staff generally know nothing about (it's only a few months since Sky needed several days to get back to me to confirm that, yes, they do in fact have a 1 TB FUP still).

Unless it's a confirmed directly by Vodafone on their website, tread with great caution. IMO steer clear of door to door salespeople as all they want is commission.

    Anyway from...
    https://n.vodafone.ie/terms/fixed.html

Look at the gigabit sections and they mention a fair use threshold but don't seem to specify an actual figure.

Also each ISP have their own usage policy.

    IMO he's spoofing.

The data used graphic is gone from "myvodafone" when I log into my account but I still wouldn't trust that it means fup is gone.

Interestingly, eir were in my estate yesterday in Carlow calling to houses with siro, trying to get customers to switch. The salesman said they have no fup anymore, but as I have a year left on my contract I didn't press him for details

Eir no longer have a FUP, but there are rumours that they may bring it back.

Never ever believe salesmen at the door, all they want is the sale.

Digiweb have a 1tb fair usage policy on all FTTH connections

Sky have a 1tb fair usage policy on their FTTH plans.

To my knowledge Vodafone still have a 1tb fair usage policy on all plans.

On the Siro Network, Airwire are the only provider that I know of where there is no caps or fair usage policys. Eir and Virgin have no services on the Siro network.
