She reminds me if a guy I know from a previous job who is a perpetual victim. Trouble follows him around like a shadow and he's convinced none of it is his fault. Of COURSE there is more to this.

I have a friend in Oz with parents like hers. Her father died recently without reconciliation, bint of a mother has Alzheimer’s now, no hope of reconciliation. Those parents once called to my parents begging that they get me to break up the marriage to her bewriful husband, a great guy she is still very happily married to.

It's bizarre, they did research on this and say people who break off contact like that suffer just as much as the person being cut off - if not more.
