Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pretty tame start. Top 6 are sticking close enough. If vettel can close gap to Hamilton I can see it getting good. Danny got a good start. Up to 14th. Norris is up to 7th as aswell

Not really lining up to be a classic is it?

6 within 6 , can go either way. Especially with heavy undercut

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,028 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Hoping they turn up the pace fairly soon

Think it's guna get very interesting soon enough. Not much separating Hamilton vettel max and bottas.

    Danny Ricciardo is feeling it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Ricciardo doing his best to put on a show. Nice move, then Kvyat got mugged by Stroll to boot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭Joeface

Yeah so far it's the Danny Ric Show

Honey badger finishing in the points would be a great result for him

Another nice move on Kvyat from Perez

Its a pity Vettel is not the driver he once was. He should be on the rear of Hamilton here putting the pressure on

Might be trying to preserve tires for an undercut during pit stops

    Definitely, and also managing temperature in brakes, engine etc;

  • Registered Users Posts: 196 ✭✭A Shropshire Lad

Vettel will find a way to screw this up

Not sure what they're thinking keeping him out. They need a safety car to make it work otherwise he's screwed. He'll be out in P6 at this stage

Unless the Mercedes have an extra page that no other team has then Hamilton is in trouble.

Croft just called Danny Ric Hulkenburg 4 times in a row............ is he alright?

    He never has been.

We like to despise him but I think Croft has nailed it with the traffic line.

I really don't agree with telling Bottas to slow down, let him race

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,366 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

    Didn’t work that well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,638 ✭✭✭deafroadrunner

Merc made a shambles of that

    Bottas timed it to perfection.

I think Merc are hoping the tyres of the Ferrari’s go off a cliff. Following these cars can’t be helping them.

Black and white flag for Vettel I think.

Sky should just have Horner on commentary

    Surely safety car?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,711 ✭✭✭This is it

I can see LeClerc catch Vettel? I think so. Not sure how it'll play out though. If they race it could be 2 x DNF instead of a Ferrari 1,2. Still plenty to go in this

    Feck’s sake Grosjean

I know in Germany Vettel basically called his own strategy. I wonder did the same thing happen here as opposed to Ferrari screwing Charles?

I missed it. What did he say

I missed it. What did he say

Calling bullshît on the team strategy. He should've been first, they gave Vettel the undercut.

Anyway, this safety car is good for Ferrari, shouldn't have tyre issues now.

He's one hell of a driver and a likeable guy, but he needs to understand sometimes the team might decide differently than what suits him.

Vettel's chances for a podium were thrown away in Spa so he could slow Hamilton down to give Charles a bit of a breather. Here, the idea was to undercut Hamilton, I don't think they anticipated they'd undercut Leclerc as well. Also, Ferrari needs "old" Seb back, if winning here helps, so be it.

    LeClerc in DRS

    I agree with that,

Which is why I like him more for it.

Damn it anyway, another mechanical failure and Perez out.

They had a big lead before the safety car - Mercedes were a good 15 seconds behind - saving the tyres for a couple of laps isn’t worth that much time.

Vettel did a brilliant job getting through traffic better than anyone else, he deserves the win on what’s happened so far.

Leclerc starting to sound like another diva on the grid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

If this were Monaco, that car would be removed in 2 minutes

I really like Leclerc, but he needs to stop moaning now and get on with it. If it had been the other way round Vettel would have made his feelings known once and then carried on racing.
