A he dressed as a she in blackface? Hmm. Let me check my victim hierarchy handbook.

Well one of the real housewives did exactly that only last year and she was fine so I'm sure he'll be grand...

Whether offence was meant or not has nothing to do with it.

They "call it out" just to force people to conform and mostly so they can break them.

He’s always struck me as a guy that is just saying the words but it’s only lip service. I thought he’d have some sex scandal come up.

He’s the type of guy that says we need more women in politics but would run himself for as many terms as possible rather than back a suitable woman and take a more junior under her.

Couldn't stop laughing this morning seeing this on my feed. The irony of it all. Proves how much all this identity politics is just a load of c*ck. What made it worse is Trudeux spun all this nonsense himself. The intolerant left created all of this nonsense and have caused a tit for tat. The sheer hypocrisy of people trying to defend it, if it was Trump, there would be murder.

You seem reasonable, lets draw our own conclusions.

I agree however allot of politics/general opinion happens on those platforms and its interesting to see how opinions change depending on the man saying it.

Realistically we need to move away from the mob justice but i don't think we are quite there yet.

As another poster mentioned, he also always got a pass with feminists despite his treatment of Jody Wilson-Raybould in the SNC-Lavalin affair.

The ethics commissioner ruled 'Trudeau tried to unduly influence Jody Wilson-Raybould'

All the red herrings to take away from the utter hypocrisy of this guy are absolutely hilarious, please keep them coming!

Yes, the layers of privilege as a high-school teacher were the issue.

Thankfully those layers of privilege have declined, after he was demoted from high-school teacher, to president of Canada.

On a related note, who is the King of Blackface? Robert Downey Junior gets my vote.

I find posts like this one of funny, given that Trump has done far, far worse things relatedly before and since winning the presidency, and people across the right have made never ending excuses for him, often in direct contradiction of their own attitudes towards Obama or Clinton.

Meanwhile the Trudeau situation is sold as both a) an example of left wing hypocrisy for not hanging him out to dry and b) an example of left wing militant puritanism for...hanging him out to dry.

Just to say in advance, I ****ing hate Trudeau, he's a smoked salmon socialist in the Tony Blair vain, swanning around apologising for **** that it doesn't cost him anything to apologise for and that doesn't make a lick of difference, and getting lots of handy praise from other middle class "socialist" twats for his identity politics ****e, all an obvious cover for business as usual corporate shilling and total disregard for the lives of actual working class people. The black face thing is objectively ****ing hilarious and it is really funny to watch identity politics gowls twist in the wind over this.

But could the right wingers spare us the gloating? At least until you've repudiated that fat orange pig-bollock they crowned in the USA? This doesn't make Trudeau worse than him, believe it or not.

What a headline for a prime minister

"...cannot say how many times he wore blackface."

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-us-canada-49763805

I think the schadenfreude is down in large part to the carefully manicured public image Trudeau projects.

The first thing a politician needs when running for high office is for a Malcolm Tucker type to sit him/her down, look them in the eye and say "I want to know every skeleton in your closet, and don't you dare f*cking lie to me or omit anything, or else when it does come out I'll bury your career myself."

Not everyone gloating at Trudeau's hypocrisy is a right-winger :pac:
Have you got any note-worthy hypocrisy on Trump?
He appointed women to half the positions in his cabinet. Not because of merit or fair representation — women comprised 28% of elected MPs in last election — but because, as Trudeau put it, “it’s 2015.”

It is very easy to say, as Trudeau and so many others have, that you "believe in equality between men and women". It's even easier to simply announce you are a feminist and reap the political and social rewards.

The reason some men have taken up the feminist cause is precisely because latter-day feminists actually espouse an anti-feminist movement, because in defining women as ‘victims’ or ‘vulnerable’, they infantilize them, making them out to be like characters in a Victorian novel. Remember Emma Watson's #HeforShe? She asked ....and got Trudeau.

    Soft bigotry of low-expectations.

Supposedly Hillary Clinton was at it too.

I don't know - i'm just not getting the outrage. Surely the whole point of dressing up is to, you know, dress up? People today are practically offended by their own fúcking shadows, it's ridiculous.

    Couldn't agree more. Utter bollocks.

The case of Megyn Kelly losing her job at NBC is mind-boggling.

It's the essence of identity politics.

I think it's harmless dress up as well (obviously when done with no ill intent like a child wanted to dress as a disney character) but ultimately I guess I'm white, I'll likely never suffer racism and as such if people of color (lol) find it upsetting or in poor taste then I guess I'd prefer to just be a nice fellow about it and not do it.

Sort of like that Southpark nagger episode with Stan saying he understands why Token is mad until the end when he realises he'll never understand because he's not black.

If a black person whited up and did an impersonation of a white person on-stage, I'd find it funny rather than offensive.

    Maybe just me.

As for that photo, it was out there for years, and surely the Canadian prime minister must have known it was going to be released.

True but unless you're a black person living in a country which literally owned and sold your not particularly distant relatives as property and in living memory had lynchings and segregation etc etc then it's probably not comparable is it?

    Michael Jackson wore white face
There wasnt much backlash over him, just some snide comments aside from the kiddie fiddling allegations

Slavery is going on right now, only the ones running the show are other brown people - so no one gives a ****.

Perhaps they should, rather than harp on about evil whitey from 200 years ago.
