    Merry Christmas all

It was a good watch, I just couldn't believe the naivety of his poor mother though! Believing her little darling's bullcrap to the end.

Was there ever any explanation of the video in the casino workplace of one of the sleuths? Had he figured out her anonymous online profile found out where she worked and uploaded a video showing that he knows who she was?

As a postman, I love Klaus the movie.. happy Christmas everyone.

I thought it was fairly poor. Adds layer after layer of mysterious nonsense. I'm afraid to stick with Watchmen for the same reason.
the leftovers is def must a watch, begining is slow - but unlike other mind fck movies this has real depth to it, in its own way that does distort thinking but at the same time shows real emotions, plus soundtrack once it kicks in special moments is amazing.

But as poster said its hard for people to get these shows, as its not on netflix.

did enjoy the lost in space s01, so might give that a go, but otherwise really hard to pick something that might glue one to the screen.

ranchers - pure american jokes, but nice sitcom, if you can get behind some jokes, is a nice one, where you can chill and watch it without much thoughts as it drives on random bursts and jokes, in short series.

Just watched the first episode of The Witcher. All tell and no show, felt like I had jumped into a show at the half way point. Not sure what a 'Witcher' is, other than they kill monsters (which apparently people want to keep around as means of population control), the have no feelings (yet can be seduced), can use magic, fight well, and aren't liked for some reason (lots of being called a mutant).

Just read that the first episode is meant to have two stories lines that are set years apart... nothing in the episode hinted at this.

Usually a big fan of dark fantasy, but this just feels half baked and half arsed.

I was seriously unimpressed with the first episode but have stuck with it and it feels like it’s hotting up (I’m on episode 3). I’ve no skin in the game, have no idea of what this is based on but the average review score had me watching to see what it’s all about.

Heard something about timelines which annoyed me (can people not keep some things secret?!) as I keep looking out for discrepancies. Not sure how much the timeline thing spoils it yet, but I wasn’t even looking for reviews, it was a headline on a linked IMDB news piece.

The timelines became evident in episode3, so it shouldn't spoil anything for people.

Jack Whitehall travels with my father is hilarious

Jack Whitehall travels with my father is hilarious

I liked it until I found out it was scripted, couldn't watch it after that - just felt false

Don't know if it's been mentioned before (just discovered this thread) but Glitch is excellent and I'd recommend it if your into shows where ordinary people are thrown into a sci-fi mind f*ck scenario - it starts with six people who died in various different time periods rising from the dead and not knowing that they've died (so not zombies, nothing to do with zombies)

    Klaus

Has anyone seen this? Watched it earlier and bloody hell this is absolutely brilliant. I was expecting nothing and what I got was one of the best Christmas films I've ever seen. And that ending hit me square in the feels.

I have really been enjoying Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj over the last year and his take on world events.

It’s ridiculous though they can’t keep anything secret, sure on Netflix one of the biggest secrets for the first 3 episodes about a character is spoilt with a picture as you are clicking into it. (
It shows reformed Yennefer in her enchanted appearance).

Have to say I’m really getting into Witcher now, “toss a coin to your Witcher” was when I was starting to get on board. Very catchy

I actually liked the way it (The Witcher) eased you into the story. I had no idea of it beforehand. The back and forth in time sequencing added to the mystery and intrigue. A solid story line woven together excellently. Cannot wait for the next season.

I watched klaus today and it sounded like another Christmas animated film but was I wrong. Absolutely brilliant. Disney should take note.

Quite a disparity between Critic reviews for Klaus and general public on metacritic. Nothing damning from the critics but much less impressed than pretty much everyone I've seen on this forum and everywhere else, even people here who I'd consider to be proper cinephiles.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I think critics in general can be a cold hearted bunch. This film is so warm and genuine that I think it just spoke to a lot of folks and made them feel all fuzzy inside. I mean when Klaus said "I'm coming my love " at the end.......that just killed me.

Metacritic only has 12 reviews logged so it's not really a proper sample size. Rotten tomatoes has 54 and the aggregate score is more in line with the audience one.

    agreed.

still has 64% on metacritic which is decent enough but 93% on rotten tomatoes,,the truth probably somewhere in between.:P

Just on klaus after I watched it I went and tried to see what wiki has about the production side of it and the director and one other person are ex Disney employees and they kind of went back to the old way of doing it. It certainly has that old Disney warmth to it.

It kinda epitomises the curse and blessing that is Netflix: on the one hand Klaus probably got an easy and hands off path to a worldwide release; on the other, it came out to almost zero fanfare, and arguably buried under the avalanche of Netflix's Hallmark style live action films. No idea if social media has made it a sleeper hit, but it often feels like shows / movies have a much tinier window to make a splash before the next deluge of Content comes along...

Watching Season 2 of Lost In Space. Fantastic show

Sick with a headcold and just finished season 2 of You. Really enjoyed it. Some thoroughly unlikeable characters and great voice overs but i was a fan of all the twists and turns.

So I watched Klaus based on the numerous recommendations in this thread and myself and the missus absolutely loved it!

It's just so genuine and warm and snuggly and loveable. It will live on for many Christmases to come in our house

Just finished Don’t F*$k with Cats . Can't recommend it enough, Netflix really killed it with this true crime documentary. The story just got crazier and crazier, had to take a step back at one point and think to myself 'wow this sh*t really goes down in this world we live in.'

Thought it was brilliant. I live near toronto and vividly remember the case
