Well the Conservatives might get two fingers from the Scottish electorate in the next election.

All of the EU now is facing no deal. Benn bill is flawed

"if you get on the wrong train, get off at the nearest station, the longer it takes you to get off, the more expensive the return trip will be."

Interesting question by Joanna Cherry to John Bercow. If the speaker of the house were to sign the letter that would be into uncharted waters wouldn’t we ?

So the DUP has stopped Brexit (for now at least).

Apalling. They all walked out on SNP again, but this time for Joanna Cherry, and not Blackford. What was bizarre was Parliament TV cut to a close up of Bercow and he literally said 'I'm playing for time, I'm playing for time'.

Seems to me that there were some sort of Westminster directives given:

    1. Dont walk out on party leader
    2. If there is an SNP walkout, edit it out

    There are millions watching today

I wonder if he requests an extension but then refuses to agree one with the EU does that get him out of it. Anyone know?

Impartiality surely no longer a question here.

What the heck? JRM seemed to want to bring the vote back again on Monday for the deal? Some confusion on what is happening right now and what will happen on Monday.

Let us not forget they still haven't even voted on the Queen's Speech yet which they should do you would think.

    "Take the power back."

This would be rightly mocked in some damaged country.. It's happening next door.,

Sky making a big deal out of BoJos smile and the words 'not legally obliged to negotiate an extension'

    So theoretically

BoJo - Hey EU.. i am legally required to ask for an extension
EU - Ok for how long and for what reason
    Bojo - Smiles;)
EU - Kinda need an answer Boris - how long - why - to what end
    Bojo - smiles and giggles
EU - what are you playing at?
BoJo - Im legally obliged to ask for an extension - i have done so - says nothing about talking to you
EU - This is outrageous - after all we have done etc etc
BoJo - anyways thats the score - request given - im off to the bar - cheerio

    UK Leaves with no deal

Does he have the balls to do this?
Is that the legal position? ask but nothing else - if so, this is ghastly

Sic semper tyrannis - thus always to Tyrants

    https://commonsvotes.digiminster.com/Divisions/Details/721

    Noes
    Con 283
    Ind 17
Lab 6 Barron Campbell Fitzpatrick Hoey Mann Flint

    Ayes
    Dup 10

    Didn't vote

    Lab 4
    Con 2

DUP swing would have meant 312 vs 316 so those 2 extra Labour didn't vote and 5 Noes are critical.
Hoey might as well be the Brexit Party's only MP at this stage.

It was so she didn't have to speak over a couple hundred people leaving the room at once.

I think what he's planning is that he will write the letter but will instruct his team not to engage with Europe. Unless the EU can get a commitment on sincere cooperation for example, it would be hard for them to grant an extension, particularly a lengthy one.

Tom Newton Dunn was saying last night that the MV will surely be held in the next 7-10 days ie. before Oct 31.

There's no suggestion Johnson would delay the MV until after 'Brexit Day'.....he wants it done asap.

Jo Swinson offers Prime Minister BJ
    opportunity outside of house
to send his letter and then return confirming he did.

Assuming the vote is held today, I think Boris wont send the letter based on the below? This was referenced by Mogg I understand.

Not sure where they pissed off to? Amazing how they all bugger off to regroup.

Not convinced. The camera cut to Bercow quick sharp.

The letter is dictated by the terms of the benn act so less scope to amend it. A second letter is a different story of course but eu could in theory just ignore it.

Why are they not all in the Commons debating the vote next week?
