Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Exposing a cottage's stone walls to the elements after a century of cement render

I've just bought a cottage in the south east. I estimate it to be around 200yrs old which hasn't been lived in for at least 50yrs. That said it's not in poor condition but suffering from some damp which has been put down to a 9" concrete floor and external cement and pebbledash rendering. My question is this: I'm planning to lime plaster so the render needs to be removed completely (which is something I'll be doing). How long can I leave the walls exposed before plastering? One opinion says that I should aim to strip and plaster between May and September, to avoid frost damage. Is this opinion good? Thanks.
