There’s plenty of time for another misery slot. He’s been known to squeeze in two before.

RIP Joseph tuohy. Like so many elderly men who left Ireland as teens and ended up in hostels and bedsits in Camden holloway and Brixton. There are still many in London today. They were the legends that kept Ireland going by working their guts out daily and always sending the few Bob home to the family in the homeland. Pity when they did come back to the homeland occassionsly the greeting they received was " how long are you over for " and " when are you heading back . Shame also on the builders who worked them so hard and then insisted on paying them late at nights in the pubs they owned. These men were legends and deserve respect.

Well said. I remember years back chatting to an old Irish fellah in a pub near St Pancras in London, I was off to Paris for an Ireland match and he came over chatting. He was just gone 81. We got talking and as he told me where he came from near Ballina . Was sad listening to him say how he went over as a teenager to go on the sites. All his family back home were dead. He had no family in England. Never went back home.

It stayed with a long time and made me realise all of those old men who will die alone, remembered by no one.
Its heartbreaking to see them with the free newspaper waiting to go into the Wetherspoon chain of pubs. Always in their own little group with friends. But come 4pm heading off to their various lodgings to a night of TV. . On their own.
Wouldn't it be great if any Irish born of pension age overseas were given the option to apply for a free travel pass for the Republic as a thank you for all the remittances sent back in the 50s,60s,70s,80s often times keeping the country going through the hard times. It might even pay for itself as a lot of that age group are ok now financially though many fell by the wayside iv seen them myself along the holloway road in the few Irish pubs left like they are caught in some time warp with their suits a bit threadbare now and hairstyles straight out of the 60s. Honour them now while we still can. Not when they're dead and gone

Next page...Doireann Garrihy (and her cousin Waring).

"Eddie Waring - when you presented It's A Knockout on BBC1 for years with Stuart Hall - did you realise he was a Sex Offender?"

Seriously whoy don't they have a full on 2.5 hour show of a Sunday night with misery from start to end.

Make it 3 hour show, an hour each of Ryan, Ray and Joe

Wonder will they have the walking suit that was launched in UCD recently. It costs about 160thousand euros. It's supposed to help people in wheelchairs eg people with MS to experience the feel of walking once again. Might suit that poor lady.
