here's a particularly good one! CANT afford a few cent a day for water! CAN afford to make blanchardstown Krispy Kremes the most profitable store IN THE WORLD, out of a chain of 1300!

    https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/food-and-drink/behind-the-scenes-at-krispy-kreme-dublin-the-firm-s-most-profitable-shop-worldwide-1.4031118

funnily enough out where himself and his mates imprisoned Joan Burton in her car. The local dominos is the branch with its highest turnover WORLDWIDE I believe. It really is very interesting, what can and cant be afforded out in west dublin! I'd never vote Labour, but Joan burton spoke the truth when she said they were all using the latest phones etc, the truth doesnt go down well in this country!

I do find it odd, and somewhat pathetic that people believe they must attack politicans personally, these people should be respected, I'd imagine it's not a particularly easy job, and that goes for politicans that have opposing views to my own.

I find anyone that has respect for that scumbag pathetic.
Respect is something you earn, not by surrounding a car with woman in it intimidating with his scumbag mates.

Well he got a dawn raid and three Garda giving false statements for his troubles.

Fact check, he wasn't wanted there. He turned up.

a link to a credible source for that.
He deserved that raid, its just a pity the media pressure made the judge acquit those thugs.

It's a matter of record. The Garda gave false statements. They said Murphy was the one said 'keep her here all night'. He wasn't. They were proved wrong.
Media pressure? There were many lies printed trying to make water protests all about Murphy. They were not on his side. Murphy got off because Garda gave false evidence among other things.
Leo Varadkar says 'it's a problem' that garda evidence conflicted with video footage in Jobstown trial
    https://www.thejournal.ie/leo-varadkar-jobstown-3483331-Jul2017/
During that trial Judge Greally instructed the jury that if there was conflict between evidence from the gardaí and the video evidence, the jurors should rely on the video evidence.

Paul murphys defence accused them of giving false statments, but at no point were they convicted of it or admitted it.

Murphy is calling for a "Green New Deal." He's clearly copying this terminology from recent US legislation sponsored by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ed Markey. In the US, of course, the New Deal refers to FDR's social and economic reforms after the Great Depression—but Ireland never had a New Deal in the first place, so lobbying for a "Green New Deal" in Ireland is nonsensical.

Joan Burton was trapped in car in Tallaght...not Blanchardstown

Krispy Kreme is in a shopping centre which half the country goes to and not really a representation of the area, hence why the queues of traffic going to it

Blanachrdstown doesn’t have a Domino, one is based in Castleknock and based on this report it’s not even the busiest one in Ireland

Their statements differed from the video evidence. How would you describe it?

They gave false statements. The debate was if it was on purpose of they all made the same mistake ;)

After a day of intensive press coverage, Murphy's new endeavor has achieved ... wait for it ... 284 Twitter followers!

I think it's fair to say that most people simply don't give a toss.

Some posters on here should read that. They parrot the same nonsense as Murphy.

I am not against the left at all. But he has gone as bad as SF with his figures now.

Reading this thread just highlights the the futility of trying to have any sort of debate on anything to do with politics on Boards.

We all have our own beliefs and are unlikely to be influenced by anything we might read here.

The forums just give the crazies, whether right, left or neither the opportunity to vent their views under the cloak of anonymity.

It's the distance from reality that gets me.

They tell us that they are pro-EU for example, but nearly every single one of their policies falls foul of EU competition law or budget requirements.

It is really bare-faced lies, dishonesty and pure Irish chancer behaviour. I can't respect any of it.

Other parties at least start from the point of honesty, even if you can accuse them of all of the above. There is nothing honest in Murphy's platform and only fools fall for it.

I think he's lost it. I mean, that policy manifesto, Jesus H Christ. Seizure of private property, nationalisation of all enterprise, zero carbon by 2030 (with no carbon tax)....pathetic stuff. No, honestly, that is tragic for a grown man to come out with that drivel.

But sure you can say and promise whatever you want when you know you'll never ever have to implement them.

Just make up popular stuff. That's all he does.

    I enjoyed reading that.

Now if you'll excuse me I must go wash my mouth with soap after saying I'm endorsing an article written by John McGuirk.

He’s on rte 1 radio for talking absolute gibberish about rising and mobilizing the people.

As I said how are these people given so much airtime?

Because it helps give the illusion that the Limosuine Liberals at RTE actually care about the average person. Even though the support every policy that cripples them.

No, daddy was an extremely well paid senior exec in Mars which afforded him good fee paying education and onwards to ucd, a short walk from his nice goatstown home.

Never had any job outside mouthing off.

To be fair, it is all nonsense.

It's like something a child would come up with.

Does PM really believe a society like he imagines could exist and function.

Advocating socialism in 2019 is akin to what Oscar Wilde said about second marriage — the triumph of hope over experience.
