Hollow block have been around for years and will be around for many more. I know of. A few new one off houses in Dublin being build using hollow blocks.

I’ve seen sheds been demolished after been built 40 years ago and they were still bone dry inside.

Technically they still need to comply with the EN standards around structure, and they do, but they have their limitations in structural use. This can be overcome by engineered design etc.

No issue with them personally and I think they have their uses.

It's a great article, thank you for posting it.

It's not just the HB, its the full suite of detailed pre drawing planning, and then using the materials they way are designed, with some of the best guys and gals in the A/T business.


The key take away fro me is that it was cost neutral.
