The disposal of approximately 1,000 wind turbine blades at the Casper Regional Landfill will generate an estimated $675,485.

the blades are mostly hollow - no attempt made to reduce the volume of landfill 'wasted' by this?

Cut them, mile them - any sort of processing could reduce volume and impact of these. Although it is hard to comment without knowing more about turbine technology.
