Blackadder.....the first series was weak but from there it grew into something that all comedies should aspire to be.

Being able to change the timeline but keep the characters more or less the same through their ancestors was a masterstroke.

'Blackadder'.

Genuinely funny look at historical situations and figures that can be adapted to modern times too and as someone who loves his history that's a boon for me. Also, has to ability to be poignant as well, especially in the Fourth series.

It's also less smug than 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. Although I do like that show too.

Blackadder. I actually haven't seen that many episodes but any I have seen have made me laugh out loud.

Curb.. well it's pretty funny and my partner really likes it but the theme tune is the most head wrecking thing in existence. It's in my head now... Nooooo!

Blackadder gets my vote.

There are cringe bits but at it's heart it's a wonderful tale of friendship and family.

And the songs of anarchy soundtrack is immense

There isn't a single duff episode and all the characters are well written and I can't stand Joss Whedon's stuff generally.

OTOH, you have 'Sons of Anarchy' and that Irish angle which was just awful.
