I made a cheque lodgement at the atm on saturday, is there a chance for the money to be credited to my balance on monday? I know it ussually takes 3 days, Im just wondering if there is a chance to be sooner?

    Hi there,

thanks for getting in touch with us here, nice to hear from you.

Any cheques that are lodged to your account over the weekend or after the cut off point of 3.30pm will not be processed until the next working day. If the cheque is coming from another Bank of Ireland account it can take 3 working days to clear, if coming from another bank this can take 5 working days to clear on the account before the funds are made available to you.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks Jen

However, if you are a customer of good standing they can set a flag on your account which will allow you to withdraw funds before the cheque clears.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

But that is a rarity nowadays
