Just looking for recommendations for a GP who can do a good job of freezing some warts off a finger.

Had tried Dooradoyle Medical Centre but at €100 a session I've no interest in returning to them as they made a poor job of their first attempt.....

You may be better off going to a consultant dermatologist like Dr. Bart Ramsey or a specialist clinic like Auralia on Steamboat Quay. A GP might not have the necessary expertise. Cryotherapy or freezing seems to be the only effective treatment.

Why are you going to a doctor? You can get those freeze treatments over the counter in the chemist. I've used them before with no issues.

World of difference between OTC cryotherapy and actual Liquid Nitrogen treatment.
OTC is ok for superficial warts but anything deep or bigger than half a grain of rice needs proper cryo treatment IMO.

I disagree. I used one a good few years ago to remove a large wart from my finger. The OP has nothing to lose and potentially a lot of money to save by trying one out.

This is a valid point Cookiemunster and thanks for your input.

I agree with both yourself and Banie here - the OTC freeze product worked well for one of the kids at home on a small wart.

Have tried 2 different brands repeatedly though for these larger and more established warts without success.

So for anyone reading this in the future, attack them early with one of these products and you'll save a lot of time and trouble!

I don't know what he charges but Dr. Gavin in Saffron and Blue in Ennis specializes in that area

I wouldn't go near that place again if you paid me. I used to be a patient there a few years ago.
Hard to tell who was ruder, the GP's or the receptionists

They're not interested in helping patients, just taking their money.

I've never paid for liquid nitrogen for the kids. The GP claims it back from VHI.

I used to suffer with warts as a kid until someone recommended Milton Fluid.

Just dab it on with a cotton bud once/twice a day.
Takes a little bit longer but it works.

My GP is in there too ;)
Only does the liquid nitro on a certain day AFAIK, and whilst I've never used that particular service myself.
Mossie did a great job sorting out my son's mosaic verruca a few years ago.

Op have you tried cider vinegar? soak some cotton wool in it and cover the wart with it using a plaster. It will sting a little but after a few days of doing this the wart will be destroyed. When i was younger my hands and arms where covered in warts and this worked on them all.
