Welp, I guess this belongs in the Android forum too. Microsoft will release a dual 5.6"-screen, foldable Surface with a heavily customised version of Android, around Christmas next year. They developed the software very closely in conjunction with Google:

Christmas 2020. Hardly worth considering at this point really.

You can guarantee this will heavily influence a bunch of non-Microsoft devices that get released before that though. The main reason the Galaxy Fold exists is because of years of rumours of this existing!

Don't think that Ms came up with the fold concept.

No killer or even strongly compelling use case has been illustrated for it as of yet also tbh

Nah they definitely did - first with Courier about 10 years ago, and there’s been constant rumours about Andromeda and Centaurus for a few years now. More subjectively, I guarantee you the Galaxy Fold was Samsung rushing to beat that rumour to market.

We’ll see what use cases come along, sometimes these things aren’t obvious with category defining products.

Hopefully they bring out a device without the fold gimmick too.

the surface x pro 13 is the most interesting product for them to actually to bring out

does have a claim to be mentioned in here as it has an Arm processor and in some ways is competing with Android devices even tho it's running windows.
