Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice on car on finance and under warranty

    Hi
    I am asking this for a friend of mine.
    Basically bought a car on finance but kept having many problems with the car. Brought it back but the dealership has now vanished.

    Is there anything he can do ?

    One for a solicitor. These things can be convoluted especially where vanishing car dealers are concerned, though there may depending on the facts be some kind of come-back against the manufacturer.

    In the meantime, your friend must keep up repayments on the car finance as this is a totally separate agreement that is not really implicated by faults with the car.

    Is it a manufacturers warranty on a new car?
    Or was the warranty offered by the dealer on a 2nd hand via their own auspices?
    Or via a warranty insurance company such as Mapfre?

    If the manufacturers warranty is in place, then contact a main dealer for the brand in question.
    If the warranty is via Mapfre or another insurance company contact them and see if the issues are covered.

    If it is a salesman warranty on a 2nd hand motor then your friend has an issue that requires legal advice IMO.
    Hullabaloo is spot on as usual regarding his advice particularly with regard to not defaulting whilst trying to resolve the issue.
