I applied for a personal loan with Ulster Bank last week and got an email saying it was approved and they were doing their final checks before issuing funds. I have supplied additional documentation there on Tuesday. Has anyone any experience on how long the final approval takes, as the application expires next Monday?

On my online banking, the loan has shown up as an account with the figure owed but no funds available. Interest was also charged to it on Tuesday. Is it normal for the account to be set up straight away prior to final checks? I applied last year for a loan but changed my mind in the end, the loan account at the time never showed up on online banking after the inital approval stage.

Just wondering as I have a fella holding a car for me at the minute and I need to give him an update on things.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
