Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As much as Ole has gotten grief for some of his tactical and managerial decisions so far in his united career, he has set us up very well today.

Full backs are getting in some promising forward positions, they are also keeping the Liverpool full backs quiet, pereira is picking up some nice positions and the tactics have helped Rashford in attack.

In saying that, Pereira needs to really get much better on the ball. His decision making and composure is brutal.

To be fair to Liverpool, I think our injuries have really effected them. If Pogba was fit and Martial started, their approach to the game would be much different.

    Clear dive from Origi

We're a better team than our recent results led us to believe, Liverpool are a worse team than their recent results led us to believe.

Really hope we can get another one on the break and get some daylight.

Lindelof needs to be a bit less casual.

I just don’t get the hype around Roberto Firmino. No doubting that Liverpool are an excellent unit with some outstanding players, but Firmino isn’t one of them. He’s very ordinary, not much better than Andreas Pereira IMO.

Good job manager and good first half from the players.

Origi has lost control of that ball regardless so I don't think it's a massive decision.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,419 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

At least Ole and United have shown up for a half.

If they do the same in second half then they have a chance. Like the change in Everton yesterday where due to international break the manager had time to consider options for one game.

Origi dived btw. Right to treat it as such.

The handball is a silly rule imo.

Liverpool are plenty good enough to turn this around.

The was a very good half from our point of view but you could say it can only go downhill from here

We need another solid 45 to get something from this game, Liverpool will score once at least

    Hats off to VAR

He got very lucky Mane handled the ball, turned far too easy and shoved off the ball.

He's been a bit of a liability this season overall which is disappointing.

    Clear dive from Origi

Yeah. He even stayed down after it as well. I think he was just embarrassed because he lost possession. Never a foul.

I don't think Mane had much of a chance of controlling the ball without the help of his hand but it should not be relying on a VAR decision to get out of that situation.

Has happened once or twice in that half.

We've been awful for the fist 15 minutes of the second halfs, if we start flat Liverpool will win by 2 or 3.

Really need to be at it.

Reckon the referee will try even it up in this half

Liverpool going to come out this half all guns blazing ! Big half this for Ole and the players.

What a half !!! Cmon United

United look like they want it more , be great if they can keep This up. Maybe Liverpool believed their own hype had thought they just had to show up?!

Great to see the players really closing down Liverpool, we're all over them

Hopefully we get them on the counter attack now

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

James needs to stop staying down

He will get a reputation that will hurt him in the long run

Yeh, it’s so much easier to get behind a team that at the very least looks like it’s working hard to make things happen.

It was but when you consider Giggs said he was acting his concussion in the Wales game and going down already earlier, then this time when he is injured he dosnt get the help he needs

Gone into contain mode. Inviting pressure and playing on the back foot leads to trouble if players think negative and end up passive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

    Ahhh Rashford !!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,303 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    Need another goal here

1-0 lead is too slim, Liverpool have a goal in them

Need to be more clinical and composed

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,982 ✭✭✭MeMen2_MoRi_

Damn nerves starting to kick in

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Rashford may come off soon, not really pressing anymore.

James is working his ****** off

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,419 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

That chance for Fred, defender actually read Fred was the danger but Perreria was not even trying to pass to him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Rojo the mad man has a 90% chance of not seeing 90 mins

Needs to keep energy for the big sprints? Over doing it led to his groin injury a few weeks aho.

Rojo going in there booting the ball twice after ref blows his whistle.

    Love to see it :pac:

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,419 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

    Rojo is such a ****er.

Need more players with that attitude. He never does passive.

Fred and Mc T controlling midfield against the European Champions.....never thought I would utter those words;)

    Must have heard you

Rashford was gassed but put in a good shout, this game will have given him plenty of confidence.

Awful goal to concede. Ball watching.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

Young and Rojo dreadful for that goal . Please don’t bottle it now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Ah feel bad for the lads, great performance and effort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,303 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

Another to the list of why players like Rojo and Young should be nowhere near the starting 11, even with injuries aside

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,419 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Too negative, sitting back. That is what happens, people leave things to other people the more players that go back and opposition players end up free.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

    A draw is fair

A lot more than I expected going in, bizarre game

Young absolutely asleep there, silly silly goal to give away when we were comfortably containing them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,924 ✭✭✭KH25

Result aside, I’ve actually enjoyed watching this, which is not something I’ve said a lot about United games this year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Fred has had a very good game, should do him some good.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

Gonna be negative Nancy, for me it was a win or nothing, draw does nothing

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Never a pen
