    Yep, both poorly taken too.

krul was off his line for both penalties so they should have been retaken

Such vitriol. Or maybe he believes that it's a good system, it may not be but calling him pathetic and a coward for this is unnecessarily over the top.

Nonsense. The evidence is there that it is a crap system but he is afraid to abandon and make a solid decision.

How many missed this season? 5? 6?

    Penalty coming up. VAR again.

Frustrating player at times but hasn't put a foot wrong today in one of his better games, keeping it simple and moving the ball well

    Keeper saved both, but yes.

Could have been red for Wan-Bissaka

    Nah

An injury to one attacker had us relying on an 17 year old forward unless you include Lingard as an attacking option. If Olé couldn't see that he really shouldn't be in the job.

I agree. You absolutely don't know that he couldn't see that.

I realise this will get missed cause Norwich, but still.

We really are terrible at set pieces in general.
At least we are showing more attacking intent than a lot of our other games combined.

    12 shots,8 on target.

Let Fred at the next one. Has to be good for something

Two nil up, playing well with Martial back. Krul has made some great saves and were unlucky not to ve out sight but let's slate the team when they are playing well for once.

Yikes. Talk about negativity for negativites sake.

Bruno Fernandes has a 100% penalty record this season

    2 from 2

Yep Doesn’t look like it matters who takes our penos so I don’t know why people are getting upset. Maybe we don’t have a good peno taker and rotating is the solution?

As far as this game goes, we are two up away, could be 4, playing really well and creating lots of opportunity’s (you don’t get 2 penalties if you aren’t in a dangerous position). I mean this is actually really good to watch.

Yeh the peno thing is annoying and fixable but this is encouraging. I think the bit of confidence they got from pool game has really helped.

United's first XI is not inherently awful attacking wise. Pogba back in that side with Martial, Rashford and James all fit and it is an okay lineup that will create some chances. The issue is that there is nobody behind the listed players at all.

Krul is good on peno's, especially when he's two paces off his line  Martial's peno would have been fine if it went in. Anyway against a poor team we've made a host of chances and we're two nil up at half time. Face it guys, after this season so far it's party time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,473 ✭✭✭Adamcp898

Strange half. Scoring two goals in a half of football isn't something we're known for, but then missing the two penalties.

    Norwich are second from bottom.
Also no need to get too excited.

No, it absolutely isn’t a good system, it is pathetic

Pick one player and make them practice hitting the ball into the fcuking net. It’s simple, penalties should not be missed

No? Nonsense? I never claimed it was a good system or that I like it, I claimed Ole may think it is. Why dont you reply to what was actually written and we just got a demonstration of what designating Martial to take them was like as some were bemoaning after Rashfords miss.

Although we are usually scoring from spot kicks and not open play so we still can't do both just yet.

Guy holding up the board looks more than a bit like Seedorf.

Fully expecting Norwich to take control of this game now. It’ll probably end in a draw. I’m only half joking!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

Should be out of sight, but Norwich truly are dreadful, if there's one creak of improvement over the last two games, when we run at teams they genuinely seem terrified, Rashford unlucky not to have another.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

Poor penalties but I'm not sure how the Rashford wasn't retaken. Krul had stepped forward well before Rashford had even got near the ball.

He was off the line for Martials too which I believe they looked at. Such an odd rule. They may as well remove it if they are not going to enforce it.

I agree. As much as we are attacking well they are really bad. For that second goal the CBs went AWOL. They are almost a certainty to get relegated.

Don't think he gained much of an advantage the peno was shockingly bad

Jesus, we have missed 4/6 penos now.

More of a general question but does the likes of MUTV etc not show the games live?

Just curious in terms of all clubs or do they not have rights for live?

I think Juan Mata is probably the only player I'd trust to take penos now if on the pitch whish is not that often.

I'd even let young ahead of some of them

VAR is a bloody joke at this stage.

The first one wasn’t a peno in a million years. He must be the only person to see a peno in that.

The second one was a clear peno and yet he spent an age looking at it, replaying it over and over again.

I know I’ve given him loads of stick in the past and still don’t rate him but Perreira had a very good half I thought in the more advanced role.

Newcastle were in a similar position when they made a show of us just 3 weeks ago.

Even before Ole, we were getting beaten by newly promoted teams and relegation fodder. If we manage to get our first away win in the league since March today, I won't be downing shots and singing GGMU, but I won't be a complete pissy myer about it either.

His finishing this season has been wànk. Actually he’s been pretty average in every aspect.

Get Young off please. Aarons has him slaughtered today.

Willimas should come on and take young off. He's ****ing awful. I feel sometimes they only reason he starts is because he's the club captain

    Exactly this.

Club captain my hole, shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI

Young struggling against this Norwich side says it all about him. Should be nowhere near this first team

Rather him rb. I was sceptical of the money we paid for him. Safe to say I've been proven wrong so far this season!
