Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good first half sparks of free flowing passing, their keeper has been beaten by two great moves he is holding his own hopefully more moments of magic get by him.

Have to say it’s very entertaining stuff and winning football to boot. I’m loving watching us again, we need to be a whole lot more clinical though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,837 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Ahhhh man sublime football, needs a finish !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,005 ✭✭✭BDI

The big difference here is people move after they pass the ball around the box that hasn’t happened since Moyes ironed it out.

  • In fairness you have to take that half for what it is against a Mickey mouse team

But still, at least it's been enjoyable with a good number of chances created and some urgancy about the play

We come hard pressed to find enjoyment this season but that 45 was a decent watch

    More of that Utd please

    Good half

If rashford was anyway decent finisher it would be 5

wow, we’ve actually been entertaining.... For the first time this season I think I’m enjoying watching us play. Feels weird.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,371 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Honest question, how many more years are required for it to click?

Maybe longer than him having just turned 22? He's shown plenty in his time on the left wing to show he knows where the back of the net is and when he has time generally picks out a finish. How many were the likes of Henry, Drogba, Salah and even Ronaldo to a degree score before 22 at the top?

It is getting to the stage where he has to ramp it up but I believe he's shown enough to show he could.

You can count on us looking decent against bog standard European opposition.

This competition is awful standard until about the quarters, we’ll get there without much effort.

Greenwood looking lively and Mata doing Mata things.

Are you sure. Maybe alcohol killed your brain cells more successfully but mine still remember away to AZ a month ago...

I can picture Lukaku doing his usual “shhh” celebration infront of the Stretford End so clearly.

I don't see any reason for them to be booing him so that shouldn't happen anyway.

    YESSSS RASHFORD

    What a goal

Delighted for Rashers to finally get his goal.

  • Finally, get in

    That's a great finish

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,452 ✭✭✭kerplun k

Ah, so he just needs to start using the left foot so. :) LOVING THIS.

Nice to be able to say "what a sh1te team" and not be referring to United.
    Partizan are terrible.

  • One more goal for confidence then take the most important players off

Ole should be making a triple sub swap for fitness

Front 3 doing well tonight. Greenwoods link up play has impressed.

Still very untidy at times, better teams will punish you.

    Lingard

Garner is gonna be a good player. Good positioning and always looking forward. Carrick must be a good influence

  • Mctominey injured

Not a bad ball, nobody fancied attacking it, like statues in there.

    Ashley Young is fing cat

A disappointing second half it must be said. Very untidy play, no final ball.

Only De Gea, Rashford, and I think Lindelof have played more games for United under Solskjaer.

Jesse, you wouldn’t see a lazy pass like that in the conference

Lingard has a near 90% pass completion rate this season.

I do actually think his risk aversion has been a problem but his passes generally find their mark.

Awful sloppy standard in the 2nd half. Biodegrad are just sh1t.

    He's dreadful

It boggles my mind how he continues to be defended

  • Anyway as negative as it can get around here at the moment at least we are through early which is good

Ole should not be playing anybody other than under 23s for the last couple of games

would need to see a passing map before passing judgement on that stat

It’s easy to have a reasonably high pass success rate when your average pass distance is about four yards and often backwards.

How weak a squad can we send to Kazakhstan?

Late November through to January is going to be a slog and that trip half way across the world ain't going to help.

Here is another stat on Lingard..

In 777 minutes of football this season...

    1 goal

    0 assists

    Ariel duels won... 0.1 %

    Shots per game... 0.8

    Pass success...88.7%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

At least half of them look wrong to me.

(not saying his stats are great)

Game won nice and early which is something I’m not used to. Second half after rashford scores was mostly just lads managing their fitness. Not going too wild just doing enough. Which is fair enough.

There is a slow improvement since Newcastle, the team is starting to have purpose.

Rashford said after the game that they have been working on creating chances and spaces for other teammates to score, that’s one thing I have always noticed since Moyes was when a corner or cross happens everybody tries to run
To where the ball is going to be instead of into all the different spaces.

Movement happening after a pass was a simple thing that hasn’t happened really since Moyes either. You look at city or Liverpool and even arsenal when on form and once the ball is near the edge of the box chaos starts happening. Players running everywhere. If we could have this it’d be a huge difference to the points total at the end of the season.

I really think Pogba is gone. Usually the camera pans to him when he is in the stand injured but I’m not noticing him around so much. I’m happy enough getting rid of the individuals.

Mctominay is turning into a man over the last few months and it’s great to watch a lad come through and become the steel in the midfield. Reminds me of Darren Fletcher at times and he is still young.

Ashley Young god bless him has always done a job when needed but Shaw needs to be gone and if Williams can come through fine, if not he needs to be improved on.

I'm not good at maths but does that 0.1% areal duals won stat mean he has attempted 1000 areal duals and only won 1?

Maths don't check out for me

That's how I read it too. An aerial duel every 45 seconds.

And as far as I'm aware he has one assist and no goals.
