Credit Union: Top up loan

Hi all, I am going to ring my local CU in the morning but just got a quick question. Anyone knows if it is possible to get a top up loan in CU? Or can you take out a second loan ? I already have a car loan with them and something just came up and I would be looking to get another 2,000-2,500.

It is possible, of course. Nowadays it's generally a separate loan altogether rather than topping up an existing loan (which used to be the way).

Naturally, ability to repay has more to do with it than anything else.
