Amsterdam bar recommendations

Off to the Dam for the weekend. Being doing a bit of research about the bars but there are too many to choose from! Any good recommendations? I'm not mad about Belgian Beers so you can count Belgium themed bars out.

So don't go to Café Belgique then :P Might be helpful if you told us what you are mad keen on.

For beer, centrally, Arendsnest has a 100% Dutch list and a superb cheese selection too, if you're into that.

Beer Temple specialises in American beers.

Wildeman is probably the best place in town if you want to drink German.

Gollem is poky and charming, though might run a bit Belgian for your tastes.

If you want to drink in a brewery, Oedipus and Walhalla are easily accessible via the free ferry behind Central Station, or there's 't IJ just south of the centre. Check the opening times before making your way out to any of them.

There's plenty more beer good options further outside the city centre if you have the time.

You won’t be disappointed with the ones listed here.

I’d just add use google maps to your advantage when there. There’s more craft pubs there than you’d expect.

near cheese museum.

Cafe Belgique
but if your not into Belgian beers, you should skip this one...
