Brendan seems a decent chap and does a lot of genuine charity work.
He has done incredibly well and got jobs for most of his family.

Still knows how to get a good plug in

Nah.....you're alright Brendan. I'm busy that night.

By the way - I hate the comedy

    But fair play to him.

Outside of this ****e , he is a clever lad and by the sounds a very generous bloke.

I have friends with different taste. In Dublin every big family had a type of Brendan , he turned it onto a massive career and wealth.

I get him as a person.

His written comedy is ****e. But a very funny guy .

Well said. It's not the coolest comedy going, but if they're getting all those kids tested who play sports, they are probably saving young lives. So that's more important than the success of a show we can ignore if we want.

Jaws is still a great film.

Ironically, this is still much better than Mrs Brown's Boys the tv show.

This is all nice and cosy...

Now ask him about Rory Cowan. :)

I’ve told this story before on boards but a number of years ago I was flying back from Florida business class with work and while I was seated in the lounge in walk the O’Carroll clan dressed head to toe in luminous golf gear like they had raided the clearance aisle of a Ralph Lauren Outlet. They behaved as you’d expect for the duration of the flight - Irish on tour, loud and obnoxious and laughing non stop at their own “hilarious” jokes. It was the worst flight of my life.

By the way , this comedy is below him

A bunch here - could write it.

    It is basic toilet humour.

I don't understand at all how Mrs Brown's Boys has had the success it has, but at least he puts a lot of the proceeds to good use. He seems like a genuine man and fair play to him for all the charity work he does.

He's always bigged up the VDP and other such charities.

    Really?

It's just occurred to me that there is a constant tide of stories about how decent they are. Like, an awful, awful lot.

Give praise where it's due. Half a million is a lot of money to give to a charity. Plenty of multi millionaires in Ireland who wouldn't dream of been so kind.

Genuine question - how would you know what donations anyone else makes?

You have no idea what "Plenty of multi millionaires in Ireland" give or don't give to charity

Not everybody goes around looking for applause for their deeds.

Most people up front on a United Airlines flight are like that. Had paid the extra for a bit of peace as I wasn’t in best shape post-op, had the two guys next to me talking over to each other across me all the way to Newark, with the flight attendant joining in. All the bloody way.
