Darn... had I only known that sooner... Really, though, if you had mentioned it also worked as a time machine, you probably would have reached you kickstarter target within the first hour. :pac:

It would probably be reached before it started... I think? Need to watch Back to the Future again

Just got my tracking. It's like Christmas Eve, or Christmas Eve Eve depending on the post

First post in this forum but have been a long time follower.

My planned lie on this morning was interrupted by a knock from the postman. Best ruined lie on ever as it turned out to by the much anticipated arrival of the Starlight.

I have to say the updates and photos along the way have been great but the finished product is even more fantastic. I was hoping to have it in time for my wedding in the next few weeks so amazing that its finally here.

Congratulations Diyu on bringing this all to life over the past few years. All the hard work and thought you have put in is really evident in the quality and design of the product - it is beautiful.

I wish you the best of luck and continued success as you grow the brand. I will be definitely back for more!

Edit: FYI I haven't yet taken off the protective film for those with an eagle eye.

Best of luck with the wedding is it your first try?? I am due to get married in July but due to covid I have had to cancel twice already no cancelling or stopping this time. Looking forward to getting my hands on the watch also

Second bite at the cherry for us. Lockdown has been a pain but every cloud has a silver lining and at least I will now have a stylish new timepiece to make sure I arrive on time on the day. :)

Best of luck with your big day!

My whats app is lit up today with pictures of the Solas, hoping to get mine this evening :) Great to see these shipped and a testament to Diyu's integrity and talent to get us to this point, lesser men would have give up long ago.

Congrats Diyu. Delighted to see your vision realised. The first Irish led watch Kickstarter to actually deliver a watch!

Another happy recipient of a starlight here :D
It is really a lovely, and comfortable piece.
    The clasp in particular imo.

I've had 2 watches delivered this morning, 1 Starlight and 1 VC back from service.
Currently tho, it's the Sólás that's on the wrist :P

The metallic fleck on the box is a really nice effort too!

Well done Diyu, you have really not only managed to deliver, but I hope that you know that you exceeded a lot of already high expectation.
Fantastic result and one I hope that the retail version really builds upon for you.

Mine arrived today - very impressed. It's been fantastic to follow this from close to the start, and see the future plans too. Congrats on all the work in making your vision become real.

Getting very excited seeing this actually on regular’s wrists! Can’t wait to get mine!

Really looking forward to seeing a salmon strap too!

    Great work Diyu!

Got mine this morning, absolutely delighted with it :)

Coming to the end of the road for this project but overall, just the beginning for Sólás I'm sure! Congratulations again.

As one without solace (not a dress watch guy) I'd like to join the congratulatory congregation. It's quite an achievement and will encourage others like me to come onboard for some future project.

Btw - for those who have received a Starlight - feel free to leave a review on our site:
    https://solaswatches.com/shop/ols/products/xn-sls-starlight-silver-no-date-pkc25c

Apparently it's good for SEO metrics too - if there's any issue with the watch please do let me know :)

I've already insta'd and posted on Reddit ;)
Will drop a review on the site later too.
The watch really is a new level in bang for buck and could well be worth a post over on the best sub-€500 thread as a potential best dress watch ;)

Love the watch. Any "disco-ball" or Sólás font being too big concerns were totally unwarranted.

It was disallowed in the first post :D (along with Seikos) :P

Glad people are enjoying their Starlights - the daily routine now is 9-12pm QC/reg/WR test around 10-12 watches, the day after send them off during lunchtime. Making good progress going down the list :)

Hoping someone could help me with a rather important-ish query - does anyone work/know someone who works at an courier company? DHL/FedEx/UPS etc.?

A slight issue has occurred with shipments to the US and I would appreciate if anyone has some local contacts (or even better works at a courier company)...

I'm diving into the lucrative world of watch reviews... - the watch brand didn't pay me a cent to look at this watch though :P (e-manual for the Starlight) - 4K is rendering at the moment and should be ready soon:

And thanks to everyone for the subs - YT has finally allowed me to claim a custom URL now:
https://www.youtube.com/c/SólásWatches (luckily solaswatches without the fadas also works).

People get to see the special salmon strap we're putting on the Equinox (for fun) for the Pieta version. Green and gold baby :pac: - it'll make a lot more sense when paired with the Equinox.

Just shooting this and rending it all took the whole afternoon (hilariously after everything was recorded I realised I didn't explain how to start the watch :D ) - while this video isn't really aimed at anyone who has used a watch before the deployant section is actually quite useful - especially for the soft salmon/horween straps.

Oh and I made a parting shot about water resistance too :P

Nice one looks great. Really impressed to see these watches in the wild. Well done on such an amazing feat delivering an awesomely unique product!
Might be obvious to us, but maybe it could be useful to demonstrate how to determine if your watch is in AM or PM by advancing the time to date change

You should all really have a special handshake, or a signal, or a codeword, or something, in case you see someone else wearing the watch. :)

I hope it’s okay to post this here -

I don't see why not it already being in the public arena.

Found this quote in the link from a Dr. Lu of Maynooth University.

“Second-generation Chinese are often forced to identify with the Chinese identity due to the restrictive nature of ‘Irishness’ (being white) and the pressure of racialisation and marginalisation in the mainstream society, even though they are not regarded as fully or properly Irish by themselves or by society.”

Don't want to start an argument but I strongly disagree with his highlighted views. Typical third-level socio-babble IMO.

It wasn't just a baby excuse at least - now on public record ha :D
