Couple on channel 4 did up an old house without any major building work all internal for £90,000 and it turned out fantastic and had a bit of character about as they were allowed to put own ideas and touches into it.. when you look at the hundreds of thousands put into the houses on room to improve is madness. ( The £90,000 they spent didn’t include the purchase price )

I've said it a thousand times before he is an Architect not an interior designer.

    He hasn't a f**king clue.

He does my head in every episode with his mad interior ideas. Yes he can design the house but leave the interior to professionals!

You couldn’t afford him but you wouldn’t want him. He designs are not maintainable unless you have deep pockets or landscapers in every 10 days !!

At the end of the day the house cost in the region of 1.3mill with refurbishment.

In a kind of mediocre suburb of Dublin. Honestly that is ridiculous money for the area. IMV of course. Nothing wrong with Drumcondra but I wouldn't be spending that amount of money on that house there either. Far too many other lovely options abound.

Anyway..... the day the RTImprove pitches itself to ordinary mortals and brings a little tigeen anywhere back to life with a realistic budget is the day I will tune in again. Bye now.

That garden is a jungle & as for the bath...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,044 ✭✭✭appledrop

Another space cadet. An outdoor bath in a damp, wet country. Cop on.

That's not a garden it's an overgrown mess.

A garden you need to duck your head and creep around. Awful design.

This is off to a dull start anyway.

What? I hate the garden, it's stuffed with too much.... Stuff. And that tin shed at the end blocking the nice view? What the heck is that about.

Then again, him rocking up in his new land rover discovery at the start of the section probably didn't help.

Are the builders on site just payed a day's wages, because there no way in hell you could price a job with that clown changing his mind every 5 minutes.
The job is 16 weeks behind and all the builder does is thinks its funny.
