Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

At what point does Stander break off there? Not really sure what the TMO was on about

Times in this tournament when you're asking why the TMO isn't doing anything, and then that. What's the point

    Splits the posts, lovely kick

TMO chasing shadows and what's the bet he'll miss 10 high tackles and numerous off-sides.

Officiating just can’t stop making itself look useless. He had a chance to look at that before bringing it back to ref

Oh man that pitch is bad, if someone laid that in your garden you wouldn't pay them!

I thought that was a terrible tackle on Stockdale at the time.

    Yellow right call

    Good reffing that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,845 ✭✭✭shootermacg

You'd have to say he's unlucky there. He was really low.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

I know its the rules, but I still find that kind of decision very harsh.

Correct decision. Stockdale was very low

Nice Berry is a superb referee

I dunno. Letter of the law and all that crap, but seriously, this stuff is killing the game. That was a waist high tackle.

Will we get to the point where players deliberately drop into tackles?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,375 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Samoa have said they'll give up playing for this stuff. I can't say i blame them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

I think that's fair. Another day that could've technically been given as a red according to the framework.

How can Ireland avoid New Zealand?

Why is the ref not signalling for penalty advantage ffs. Murray has to roar over to JS

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,461 ✭✭✭Bob Harris

    Very harsh yellow card.

To be fair when you have a name for tackling high, then you'll be reffed accordingly.

if a player is willing to drop his head to a lads shoulder then fair play to them, in my opinion the responsibilty is with the tackler to get their technique right and adjust for who they are tackling

I understand the need to make intent of the defender irrelevant in the decision, but if the attackers actions are contributory, there needs to be a bit of room to work it out another way. Player welfare requires everyone to be considerate to each other on the pitch. Not just the defending team at that time.

Stockdale almost on his knees. Ridiculous decision. Laughable really, funny how these rules don't effect the big teams only the smaller ones.

    Rugby is dead
    That wasn't even a penalty
It's like diving in soccer the way the ball carrier is falling into the tackle

    Isolated no prob for furlong

This is the problem we have. Text book tackle position, but the attacker drops into it. Could be anything from a penalty to a red.

One of these calls will probably have a major impact on a knockout match.

Its abolutely the right call and mitigating circumstances of ducking into the tackle.

But its the consistency of applying it that annoys me. Farrell ducked into the Lavanini tackle and it was a red....
