Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

its bad enough people on boards calling Hendrick Henricks but its another thing when its ronnie whelan who should know the players real names.

This is basically the exact same game as the last time we played Georgia away

Is there something Hendrick and Hourihoune are doing that forces you to focus on Whelan alone?
Hendrick has been dreadful as well.

A corner we will take it!!

Is anyone still making an argument for Whelan and McClean to be starting?

Against better opposition I have no problem as both will work hard off the ball. Against the likes of Georgia they offer very little.

My rabid disregard for his 'ability'. They've been anonymous, too.

We'd stink out the euros with our 'brand' of football if we qualified. :(

If you watched the last year of MON, there is a difference. Problem is Mick was put in for the few games so alls he’s going to do is try get results rather than build a team and system

I watched every minute of it. It’s the same muck. Knock it to the fullback or keeper and lump it up the pitch and hope to win the second ball.

His got little to no service

He’s got a few bits and has given it away or failed to get at it most times. His best contribution so far was the near yellow card.

He’s grand off the bench but he’s not good enough to start

Half time. Nice to get 15 mins to bleach my eyes.

This is some garbage to watch.

  • Not sure why folks are expecting us to dominate Georgia in Georgia. It was never going to happen. Nobody in the group has done it.

Relax, be grand we will win it in the second half

    ..its not really.

Georgia bossed Denmark like this only last month and got a draw.

They done the same to Switzerland in March who narrowly scrapped past them with 2 late goals.

They drew with Austria, Wales and ourselves in the last lot of qualifiers.

They beat Scotland in our 2016 qualifiers.

Powerhouses like Germany and Spain have been there, played ****e and escaped with late 1-0 and 2-0 wins.

Its not unique to us. Theyre a heard to break down.

The level of under performance is embarassing. Shocking.

    This ends our qualification hopes

Were ****ing shocking with Georgia been the same

There was next to no FB to keeper to long kick in the first half. We haven’t played many high balls at all. We are going down the side but neither McClean or Robinson are beating there man

Denmark had the majority of the possession and more shots, just didn't make enough of their chances. In this game Georgia have more possession and efforts on goal. At the end of the day, they are not a good team - 4 points from 5 matches prior to today. Let's not big them up as some sort of excuse for how pathetic we are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

It's gonna be one of those games where McLean plays one nice pass or goes on one good run to do something and he'll then be upgraded to 'had a good game' despite 90% of what came before.

    Oh pipe down ffs.

    Don't be so ****ing precious.

This is slightly worse than I expected.

Hourihoune can't get on the ball, Doherty's positional awareness is lacking, Robinson is a bit disappointing and poor Collins is having a rough competitive debut.

No idea what would change it.

Connolly, Browne and Maguire maybe the best shouts if we still need a goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Turgid half of football. Started promising with the Egan chance against the post but we've been very disappointing. Don't think Georgia are even at their best yet we're making them look better than they are. Far too easy for them to cut through our midfield.

Hope McCarthy gives them a bollocking and demands better. If there's no change by the hour mark I'd throw on Connolly and Byrne for Collins and Hendrick.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Jack Byrne is needed, we need someone to be creative and composed

My god, you need a time machine if you think we should be beating Georgia handily away.

Yes smelly I am just not going OT with frustration. It’s a 90 minute game and this game is playing out like most games in Georgia

Is Shane Long injured ? Surely Long would give us so much more up there ?

Midfield needs a dig out here, we need someone who can control the game.

Id look to get Cullen on for Whelan and Byrne on for one of Hendrick or Hourihane. They've both been equally as bad.
Do we have a midfielder who is about 10 foot tall? Then they might reach those balls flying over their head

He's been his usual putrid self, absolutely zero quality. A chance to get a ball in the box with a couple of minutes left in the half and he takes the easy option and we lose possession, piss poor.

Does Diddy live in Ireland? Would he be bothered coming over to see Darragh Maloney for matches so often.

Shane Long hasnt been playing football. He'd fit right into this team.
