Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Collins is at a hiding to nothing up there on his own he needs a strike partner.

Whelan is bollixed. Offering even less now.

Worrying now we are struggling to string three passes together and the majority of the game is being played in our final third....

Thats it glen. Take the sting out of an irish counter attack.

Have the balls to make a change!

Simple really, Tltechnically they're a much better team than us.

Or maybe just coached better as a team. There is no excuse as to why Irish players are so poor at passing and retaining possession. The level of club football Irish players play at is not lower.

  • Mick needs to freshen up midfield
    Whelan can hardly jog

Connolly and Byrne need to be brought on sooner rather than later

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,322 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

We do for the main have PL players in our team though. Thats the point.
I count 6?, 4 are the defence..... and it's not as if they play for the top premier league teams...but that is no excuse for this rubbish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,834 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

We are so fûcking shît going forward we haven’t a clue or when we do no quality to see the pass and execute it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,989 ✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Just get Connolly, Byrne and Cullen on the pitch, add some life to our midfield for Christ sake. It's like we're just settling for a point and hoping a chance comes where we can nick a win.

It's not balls its brains. Even George Hamilton is asking to make it. We'll probably take off Callum Robinson then

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

No point bringing on connolly if there is no change made in midfield.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,385 ✭✭✭Nerdlingr

Sooooo slow between Whelan and the centre backs. Painful. Losing the will to live here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

Robinson and Collins as bad a front 2 for Ireland I’ve seen.

Disappointed that Mick hasn’t addressed it already. He’ll regret it

Whelan "sprints" back to rugby tackle him, useless bastard

Whelan lads. Honestly. Come on. Change it. Its obvious. So obvious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 932 ✭✭✭Yillan

I think we are fooling ourselves if we think Connolly is now our next choice striker. Scott Hogan incoming

  • Tbf Whelan did ok to get back
    Silly foul though

Surely now that he's on a yellow Mick can make some subs on that basis alone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,322 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

I didn't think it was possible.... but Ireland are actually worse in this half.

Whelan needs to be replaced he is dead on his feet after that tackle.

    This a dull affair

    Glazers Out!

Christ throw Connelly on, they know nothing about him and he may not know much about anyone else on his own side which could actually be an advantage - he might just take a chance and do something.

Whelan "sprints" back to rugby tackle him, useless bastard

The abuse of Whelan is embarrassingly he’s far from the worse player out there but a cheap shot every time for those who can’t manage the frustration

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

Its as poor as things were under MON at the end. And thats saying something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Whelan's knackered. Get him off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,385 ✭✭✭Nerdlingr

Whelan ball watching, getting caught out by a ball round the corner, then gives away the foul.
    We'll lose this yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Underground

Game is crying out for Byrne and either Connolly or Hogan. Turgid stuff this.

Shíte, I didn't realise this match was on at 14:00. Don't seem to have missed much, anyway.

Anyone know why its taking so long for a change?

    Hendrick is useless

We do for the main have PL players in our team though. Thats the point.

Someone like a Keane (both), Irwin, McGrath, Duff, Finnan, etc.

All among the best in the league in their positions.

All we have now is relegation fodder. A League One carthorse leading the line.

We have had some brilliant forwards in the past
    Cillian Sheridan
    Conor Sammon....
I honestly don't think they are the main issue in this match they are trying, how many caps do they have? Feck all especially Collins.

He's in a pivotal position though. Meant to get out attacks started or at least set the pace of play in midfield. Hence all the flak.

You Hardy expect Mick to be able to coach the players to improve their technique in a handful of training sessions every year. These boys have been coached all their life.
