Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The guest list for Saturday night's Ray D'Arcy Show has been revealed - and it includes Bonnie Greer, Tina Kelleher and Kathleen Watkins.

Bonnie Greer, the American writer, playwright and hero in Ireland joins Ray after her passionate defence of Ireland on BBC's 'Question Time'. Her appearance made her a social media superstar as a clip from the show has been viewed nearly three million times.

Also joining Ray this week is the much-loved star of 'The Snapper'and 'Ballykissangel', Tina Kelleher. She'll be talking about her latest role, in 'Fair City' as devious battleaxe Ger Lynch, the cause of much chaos in Carrigstown.

Kathleen Watkins celebrates the release of her book 'The Ordinary Woman and Other Poems I Love' and will tell Ray how poetry plays an important part in her life with husband Gay Byrne.

Mabel Chah, a pop star in her native Cameroon, tells Ray about her journey from direct provision to launching a new music career in Ireland. She'll also perform live in studio with the Sligo Gospel Choir.

Cork author Louise O'Neill will also be on board to talk about bringing her groundbreaking book 'Asking For It' back to the stage.

'The Ray D'Arcy Show', Saturday at 9.45 pm on RTÉ One.

    Kathleen Watkins ...

Mabel Chah**, a pop star in her native Cameroon

Tenuous guest coincidence, Kathleen Watkins is the only Woman to have presented The Rose Of Tralee

One of the many men who have done that gig was the late Michael Twomey, better known as Cha** from Cha and Miah the Cark comedians who were huge back in the day

Cork author Louise O'Neill will also be on board to talk about bringing her groundbreaking hatred of men to a new level while darcy nods on like a stuffed hunting dog from the boer war...

That guest list might suggest that this song would be appropriate, although I think I should check that with Louise O'Neill first.

There's only so many angry twitter mobs I can deal with at once.

I'm looking forward to the amount of triggering Louise O'Neill's interview is going to cause. Glad I stayed in.

Since she got a boyfriend she isn't nearly as reactionary, alas.

The sooner some token female takes Ray's spot the sooner RTE will be declared bankrupt and disbanded, bring it on. Alison Spittle would be gold.

Yes Ray, that's all they've been talking about in Coppers, some cabinet. Whilst they've been getting a shift.

Am I saying that right, shift?

That cabinet hasnt a lot to say for itself.

Ray should lean in to look closely at it and someone should run out of the audience and kick him in the arse

I saw Gay Byrne doing a live show once and in the middle of it he took an interlude and Kathleen came on the play the harp and read some poems

I didn't get that treat when I saw Jerry Seinfeld or Chris Rock live.

She seems a lovely woman she really does. But it's getting ridiculous now how RTE have her on every time she brings out a new Pigeen book. It's the same stuff all the time with her family members on and how's Gay etc etc. We may as well just replay the interview with her from last year.

Havent seen this show in a long while. Ray hasnt got any better, You can tell as he spells out every word on the autocue. Also still got his worshipping the gay byrne legacy.

(cant remember the name of the leaving cert englishbook but Kathleen recited the poems on cd attached to the back of the book. She was pretentious and terrible, even the teacher said not to listen to it)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,321 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

With her piggy related books, Kathleen should have walked on to this... :D

    (Turn it up) :D

She sounds like Mary Robinson there. They both live in same apartment block so maybe it rubbed off through the walls.

you know I did laugh when I saw this the other week.

"FIVE female TV personalities tipped to take over Ray D’Arcy’s Saturday night slot"
    http://goss.ie/showbiz/five-female-tv-personalities-tipped-to-take-over-ray-darcys-saturday-night-slot-187295

I was listening to the radio show one day and when one of the usual feminist heads was whinging about "why aren't there more women presenters, why aren't there more women presenters", and Ray of course came back with a populist "Yeah, I agree, I'm always saying that to them in here".

Well Ray, you just got your wish

*evil laugh while petting my cat and turning around in my wheely chair"
