Finding it hilarious that on another thread some posters think I'm the same person as another member with a similar title.

    1. Shortbread. Especially when dunked in your coffee. Mmmmhhhhh!!!
    2. emails and chats from/with friends.
    3. The neighbours' cats lining up for food on my doorstep.
    4. Crows and a single robin doing the same after the cats have moved on. :) There's so much life and activity in the garden, it's a joy to be here. It's definitely one of the big perks of being at home. :)
    5. And now... LUNCH!

Getting the birthday presents I wanted today:

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
    Downton Abbey the movie
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Star Trek: The Next Generation - season 1

All on Blu-ray, I might add.

    1. I knew I had a large can of WD40 somewhere in the house, I couldn't remember where I put it, but thankfully it didn't take me long to find it.
    2. I dismantled all the squeaky door handles in the house, I liberally applied WD40 to the springs, and now... no more squeaks!

New username: New Home - old doors - old oil - no squeaks

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Watching three small children (maybe 5 or 6 years old) playing with space hoppers on the green in front of their houses. They are having a bouncy marvellous time.

I was goaded into getting threadbanned - like an eejit.
I didn't even appeal, was annoyed with myself for falling for it.

But the same mod who threadbanned me:
Later threadbanned the same poster who was gloating about it (on another thread I created)

I loved the irony made me happy.

Is it trivial - yes most definitely
Did it make me happy - yes
Am I petty? In this case maybe, but still happy.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I've been looking at way of getting into running, I found 5k to couch to info and was all ready to go with that. Prob was with my form of dyslexia remembering the sequences multiple times, would be like asking me to fly.

Earlier on in the week I was sent a link for a club in the south, I sent off a message and they took the time to respond to me, TH, and had the easiest simplest doable solution.

TH anticipating someone opening a present

Got a sewing bee neighbour to alter some gorgeous new baby clothes for a friend whose newborn has to wear a harness as a result of being diagnosed with a “clicky hip”. Like all new Mums, my friend was really looking forward to dressing her little girl up, but baby’s clothes haven’t been closing properly since getting the harness. I’m wrapping the altered outfits now thinking of my friend’s face when she sees them and puts them on her little girl.

Aaww Dolly that is so kind and thoughtful of you. I'm sure your friend will be delighted.

    Your post in my TH.

Inspired by the opposite thread about a baby that cries non stop.

Our lad of ten months only cries if there is something wrong. Even then it’s brief and once he’s sorted he’s A1 again.

I was queuing today for the pharmacy and everyone told me to go to the top. I didn't realise why for a moment or too. I feel like I missed out on so much of seeing the kinder side of people that pregnancy usually brings out - giving up seats, smiling knowingly if they've little ones themselves etc. But finally saw that today. I didn't mind standing anyway I am lucky I feel physically fine, but it was so sweet and really made me so happy.

    I kind of miss people!

I went across to the neighbours to see the new puppy. It's the cutest thing ever, but of course I couldn't hold it. Watching the children being so delighted with it took me back to when I was their age.
