Great to see Keita showing what was never doubted by many.

Great professional performance. Went toe to toe with them in their initial flurry and completely dominated once they settled down.

Salah probably should of had 5

Ah yes excellent stuff that, very impressive European away display and tipping the group also.

Might be asked 1000 times already but is the last 16 a draw or is it already decided who we are playing against??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,458 ✭✭✭FastFullBack

For as good as Salah, he has a piss poor strike as times. Can be so weak and timid with his finishing at times. Frustrating

What kind of an injury did it look like that lovern picked up

    Tough game for the neutrals.

Salzburg will do well in the Europa, can see them going to the finals.

All we need is Keita to stay fit.

He plays with his head up all the time.

What a performance that was though.
Van Dijk,Henderson,Keita & Mane superb. Salah dangerous just needs to improve his finishing but what a goal he got.

Hopefully Man Utd get Haaland. He looks poor.

Thank Christ that's out of the way now... Great time for Naby to be hitting form. Bobby needs a rest, no need for him to start against Watford, looks knackered and no where near his sharpest best. Another great shift by Hendo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,007 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Salah 21 games this season 11 goals and 6 assists.

Salah 125 games for Liverpool 82 goals 35 assists.

32 Champions league games including qualifiers 20 goals 9 assists.

    Amazing stats.

Funny group, boiled down the the final match and yet Liverpool finish top with 13 points from 16 and Salzberg have 7.

The evolution of Trent Alexander Arnold is just wonderful to see, he is now playing balls that are the equal of say KDB just from a slightly deeper starting point. That ping inside takes out 3 players in a second.

Go full strength on Saturday again as Watford will have a new manager bounce hopefully get a couple of early goals and then sub players off, he can be rested on Wednesday

Lost one game so far this season away to Napoli and its's nearly Christmas.

    This team is amazing.

    From squaka

Naby Keita's game by numbers vs. RB Salzburg:

    100% take-ons won
    83% pass accuracy
    61 touches
    5 recoveries
    4/4 take-ons
    3 tackles
    3 shots
    2 shots on target
    2 chances created
    1 foul won
    1 goal

He was simply everywhere tonight. ⚡️

Haaland is a very cocky character.
Before the game he looked very confident Salzburg would win.

He is a Raiola player too so I wouldn't want him anywhere near Liverpool.

Brady thinks this is all down to Rodgers and the players he bought. lol

Dunphy was peddling that lately aswell. Makes zero sense considering the mess Klopp inherited

Michael Owen talking brilliantly there on why Salah is a great striker not letting the simple misses get him down.

I'd certainly take Minamino here. Would be very dangerous in our attack.

Great game/stats from Keita. Didn’t expect him to start until Saturday but great performance. Hopefully he stays fit now.

Brady said half the players out there were signed by Rodgers well considering Lovren and Bobby were the only two starting playing tonight that were signed under Rodgers and he didn't rate Bobby at all and Henderson was there under Rodgers and he tried to off load him for Clint Dempsey it really doesn't say much.

Rodgers laying the ground work is some crazy idea that somehow gained some traction. He signed 33 players, Lallana, Lovren, Origi, Gomez, Milner and Firmino are the only ones left in team, 5 squad players and Firmino who Rodgers didn't know what to do with :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

That 2nd half was excellent. Last 3 games now we have looked a lot more convincing. Good to see Keita put in another good performance, salah looks a lot sharper last 2 games and after a poor start to the season henderson has been great the last few weeks.

Normally vomited out by the same fans who think Liverpool already have the league sown up

The only players bought by Rodgers that are now consistently used are Origi, Lallana, Lovren, Gomez, Milner and Bobby isn't it? With Bobby at this stage being the only one guaranteed first choice.

Plus Bobby, Origi and Gomez were talked at the time as being the transfer committee's purchases, not Rodgers.

Henderson was there before. Klopp brought TAA through.

Klopp bought Allison, VVD, Matip, Robertson, Gini, Ox, Salah, Mane, Keita, Fabinho.

    Stupid comment from Brady.

Signing Bobby and Benteke only to immediately realise they couldn't play on the pitch together at all was a huge mess.

Well at least Edwards knew what he was doing.

Now that we’re out of the group there must be an argument for a bye into the final to ease fixture congestion.

That Brady/Dunphy comment sums up why I don't bother with RTE.

It's not even a case of disagreeing with opinion, those are basic facts that are wrong.

It's constant over the years - they come across as those lads in the pub that you'd avoid!

    Keita is class

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Well that was a bit nervy until the opener, but great win in the end, amazing goal by Salah, world class finish and yet he donked about 5 way better chances.

Keita was the star man as far as I was concerned, excellent performance from him, if he stays fit and that's a big if then he will be a super option to have. Firmino again looked off, not sure what's wrong with him lately.

Regards Haaland, I wouldn't be interested, mainly because he's too slow, he'sd never suit our style, Hwang and Minamino look better players.

Don’t think we will fully realise how good this side is until in a few years when we are reminiscing
