They will. It's just lads nicker twisting. Nothing to worry about.

For the benefit of those who clearly can't read, there's no knicker twisting going on - just people stating where their priorities lie in the wake of a trail of posts about receiving refunds. Hope that's clarifies matters.

Clarifies that it's clearly nicker twisting.

Tbf to dobman, he's a grass-dweller so it's not likely they'll have much a demand for STs anyway and end up on a waiting list or in a queue. He'll be able to get one handy enough.

It's the poor Dubs and Mayoese that would have an issue in the event of a policy change.

Anyway, it's not knicker twisting, it's more fear at this point.

It says on the email that they will be available for renewal in 2021.
Not in the slightest bit worried.

Absolutely no reason why they would do the dirty.

You're right! Had a look at email again. I read that at the time without heeding it!

Yeah, I'll untwist my knickers. :)

    Still waiting myself.

They expect to have all refunds out by end of this week per an email reply today.

They've let me down before though.

    Least you got an email.

I’ve got neither. No email no refund.

    No rush I suppose.

All going well. Would of been €90 coming out of my account instead of 40 going in. :(

Govt just announced all sporting events to be held behind closed doors.

GAA most likely knew this news was coming 2 weeks ago which Is why the ST’s were cancelled.

Also mean us club + members should get a proper refund.

Have Mayo fans been given free access to Mayo TV or anything?

Yes but mayo TV doesn't cover every game what if your club is a junior or intermediate club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,745 ✭✭✭muddle84

Mayo Gaa TV doesn't work either as it showed yesterday. Anybody that paid to watch yesterdays games is getting a refund i believe. Club plus holders probably won't get anything.

When was the 2020 season pass launched? Would the 2021 pass normally be launched by now?

I wonder what the plan is this time around..

Email was sent out on 08/11/2019. Deadline to sign up was 31/12/2019.

Hard to know what will be the plan if any. Will there be crowds at games next summer, I hope so but impossible to say with absolute certainty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,733 ✭✭✭Grats

I imagine they'll suspend season ticket scheme for 2021 and maybe for good.

I think they will take this opportunity to ease the headache created by the amount of mayo and Dublin season ticket holders in particular and scrap it sadly

I don't think they'll be scrapped as they are sure money for League games and early championship which the GAA can bank on.

    Their last email stated,
Season Tickets will be available for renewal for 2021 which we will contact you about in due course.

If we are still in the same situation as now and fans are still not allowed to attend then I'm sure it will still be made available in 2022.

I reckon they could keep them but take away the guaranteed All-Ireland ticket if your county makes it. Maybe even make it 80% attendance to qualify.

They'll need to make a lot of money back whatever year crowds are allowed back and freeing up All Ireland final tickets as a money spinner to entice more corporate interest would be a greedy enough way to approach that.

They may as well get rid so as most people have them primarily for the chance of an all Ireland ticket.

Why do you think that? Secondly why is that a reason to get rid of them? I think that statement could only apply to three or four counties.

If you take away the chance of an all Ireland ticket the current season ticket at €120 would provide poor value for money. It would work out cheaper to buy league match tickets online for games you attend. Often the tickets allocated for Croke Park matches aren't great (especially bring a friend option) and limited to Cusack stand always.

Prob not esp with the government having no idea when crowds can return to sporting events

Looking at other countries who are doing up plans for crowds returning to sports venues (some places have started already) and us here not even thinking that far ahead

I'd say no chance of it happening for 2021, as we have seen with this virus, it's so unpredictable. I'd be hopeful of some semblance of normality by 2022 and would hope a vaccine had been widely rolled out by that stage to allow us to get back to whatever version of normal will come along.
