Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

do you often find this happens?

    Let's see

    Stirling should get 50 here

Stirling finishes with two sixes, one to bring up his 50, the next to win it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Table now

Oman 6 points NRR +1.123 (2 games left)
Canada 6 points NRR +1.013 (2 games left)
Ireland 6 points NRR +0.749 (1 game left)
UAE 6 points NRR +0.656 (1 game left)
Jersey 4 points NRR -0.039 (1 game left)
HK 4 points NRR -0.383 (1 game left)
    Nigeria 0 points ( 2 games left)

We have Nigeria tomorrow and should be looking at a big win to finish on 8 points plus a strong NRR
Oman play Canada at 4.30 today
On Sunday then its Jersey v Oman, HK v Nigeria and UAE v Canada

Slim hopes of finishing top rest with Canada beating Oman today and then UAE beating Canada tomorrow plus a huge win for us v Nigeria.

After today we should get a top 3 finish, ironically Oman beating Canada today while ruling out a top place finish for us in the group would pretty much guarentee us 2nd or 3rd and a place in the play off semi finals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

They keeping it up. We want them to win but not by too much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Finished on 144/9

Edit: Must refresh page before posting :)

Canada made a right mess of that towards the end. 11 off the last two over when they had six wickets left. Might be enough, but we shall see.

    Oman 38/1 after 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Oman hacking it home.

Well it means we definitely finish 2nd or 3rd as long as we beat Nigeria tomorrow.

Btw if netherlands beat Scotland Sunday then Scotland won't finish in top 3

Nigeria win toss and will bat. Pity, would have loved to see what sort of score we could have put up batting first here

How did Nigeria qualify for these qualifiers? They and to a lesser degree Bermuda have been a standard below the rest of the teams. Every other team has been competitive, making it a very interesting tournament.

Think Nigeria got in on the back of Zimbabwe problems

Looked up qualifying tournament. They got in possibly at the expense of Uganda in that tournament due to 2 no results, one against Namibia and the other against Uganda.
Had they played Namibia, their NRR would probably have taken a hit.

Nigeria last the 20overs. 66/9 in the end. Craig young 4/13

    which sky channel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,400 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

I think they said 66 was lowest ever T20 score for a team that completed its innings.

Ireland too of table but need jersey to beat Oman tomorrow to have any hope of topping the table. Unlikely.

We are certain of a top 3 finish though and at worse into the play off semi final. Win that and we qualify. Lose and we will have another game with a shot to qualify

Kenya have PNG on 50/6 after 11. PNG would have expected to win easily enough and secure top spot in the other group

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

PNG make 118 in the end. Good recovery from being 19/6.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭Barney92

Just saw that PNG were 19/6. Incredible that they managed a 45 run win. Barring another Dutch rampage they'll be in the world cup.

Dutch only 0.3 behind PNG on NRR. Could definitely close that gap v Scotland. PNG will be raging they didn't get a bigger win v Kenya.

Looking at the groups, barring a big win for Scotland over Netherlands in the other group and a Jersey win over oman or a big win for either side in the Canada UAE game we will most likely play Namibia in the semi final play off with a place at the world cup at stake.
