Tough draws for Keane Barry and William O'Connor.

Ciaran Teehan got a reasonable enough side if he could win a game or two.

Fallon Sherrock the final women's qualifier. That's..... good:)

Saw it at 4-0 she was averaging 109 against Lisa Ashton. Watched a few of her games at the Irish open recently too, she could do some damage here.

Is it fair to say it's not the worst of draws for Mickey Mansell?
While Seigo Asada does clean up on the Asian Tour, he's not exactly blockbuster either. Keegan Brown isn't a bad seed to draw either.

Mansell's record in the Worlds is awful. Has never won a game I believe.

Interesting that Jamie Lewis missed out. Not that he's ever been a great player but it's unusual for a semi finalist to miss the event 2 years later.

Think brendan dolan will fancy his chances again anderson over short format

Sad to see alan norris lose his card , had a great first year in the pdc , since then has lost his wife and his form has gone to the dogs , hopefully he gets through q school !

I remember lads calling for lewis to be in the premier league after 1 fluky good event which was the worlds

    Cadby lose tourcard now also?

Shows how quickly things can go to ****e

    feel sorry for norris
whilst he was never going to be a top star, he was a decent player, and losing his wife the way he did would destroy anyones mindset, so no wonder his game went.

I often think players like that should be allowed to retain their ranking while they take time to mourn their loved ones.
To expect a guy to play under that sort of pressure is not right, and his losing his card seems little in the bigger picture, but it is his career and income.

So hard to predict a final but I'll go for MVG vs Darryl Gurney

Think Gurney will be one of the stars of this year's worlds. Price will go far I think but lose out in a QF

Again so hard to predict the world championships. Xmas will truly begin on the 13th December

I think Gurney has a potential minefield to get through - lots of players there in his quarter to potentially beat him - Durrant definitely, De Sousa been playing well (won a pro tour recently) - then he also has Suljovic, Dobey can pull out a big performance once in a while - so plenty of opponents to trip him up

I think what a previous poster said about Gerwyn Price is right - if he gets a few wins under his belt he could go deep - there's nothing in the bottom half that he can't beat - even with a dip in his current form he can easily beat most

Personally I think Durrant will do well - long format set play right up his alley

On what basis did Barney qualify?

The 4th quarter might be the toughest there's ever been. On another year it would be a very strong last 8 ot last 16 even.

MVG,Wade and Wright probably got the most favorable draws of the top 10 players.

Better setup this year in general. Last year's early exits of Wright and Price left a bit of a void in the bottom half of the draw and was a much weaker tournament after.

I think he qualified from the pro tour events? Open to correction though

Do durrant and gurney not potentially meet at second round?

    3rd round

Really fancy keane barry to cause an upset and knock van Der voort out, thought he'd be a bigger price than 11/4 though. Ciaran Teehan the same only 12/5 against Ross Smith.

last years World Champs also had 2 women
and ironically the two players that played the women, Ryan Joyce and Jan Dekker were both drawn against each other this year

Potential MVG v Klaasen in the 2nd round

I'm sure MVG will enjoy putting him to the sword.
