Price seems to be whinging a bit about Whitlock slowing the game down to a "pathetic pace" can't say I really noticed anything ott from him myself?

That's Whitlock's pace, always has been.

If he hated that, he'll be clawing at his skin tomorrow against Duzza. And if he misses doules like he did tonight he could easily go out.

Wasn't he turning around and gesturing after any half decent shot the whole game himself. If he was in a rush why do that. He was less annoying recently but tonight makes you lose a bit of time for him again. Durrant is probably the most likeable of the bottom 4 to reach the final:o

Don't know what he was whinging about. Whitlock playing his normal game
Still some bad vibes there from the grand Slam match last year it seems

He can;t play that bad tomorrow, can he??

A bit strange really, Whitlock wasn't exactly hanging about. Maybe he was annoyed at his own sub par performance and was really speaking to slowcoach Duzzer, who he didn't at all speak disparingly about when asked regarding the Middlesborough man's pace and how it would affect him in his next game. I guess he wants the crowd on his side in that encounter. They pretty much let him get on with it tonight after the obligatory boos on his introduction. I hope he hammers Glen, does nowt for darts imo.

Yeah I'd say it was more stemming from annoyance at his own performance

That said if he sorted out his doubles that would have been way more comfortable, but he still never really looked in danger

Still think he looked the most convincing contender out there today, every other winner was very up and down

    Your opinion is nonsense.

Without even having played the quarters yet I think it’s already been a better tournament than last years. Would be great to see a few close games in the quarters and semis now.

Slight rise in the 180 rate after RD 4 compared to last update, however; 900 still looks a definite bridge too far at this point.

Down 23 on last year (based on the 729 vs 752 at the same point in the competition). The main goal is still to hit the 846 figure to break even, its looks acheivable, but improbable.

As it currently stands; with the 180 rate at 1.8317 180's per set played:

If all matches from here end up 3-0 legs and X - 0 Sets we have:
39 sets left; returning a tournament total of 437 Sets and 800 180's.

If all matches from here end up 3-2 legs and go the distance (excluding tie-breaks) we have:
71 sets left; returning a tournament total of 469 Sets and 859 180's.

Mid point of the extremes has us at:
55 sets left; returning a tournament total of 453 Sets and 830 180's.

Sportingindex: middling the market at 863 (Sell 858; Buy 868). As spreads get more accurate as the event comes to an end, I think the final count will be within that range.

Next updates will be after the QF and SF's.

New format is excellent. It also shows the importance of the pro tour, first steps of what a combined bdo/pdc championship would look like

Ochepedia is running something like this on Twitter. Interesting to see. Far more cover shots hit this year, 171, 174, 177 are all up on last year but 180s way down.

Some tough games to call today. Wouldn't be surprised to see Humphries take out Wright after his difficulties against JDZ yesterday. Some handy run for MVG (bar the first round match but that was mainly tricky because of the circumstances), hard to see anything but a whitewash again today.

I reckon Aspinall, Wright, MVG and Price. i.e. no real surprises.

If it pans out this way then you'd think MVG v Price in the SF would be the headline game of the tournament, rather than the final itself. My Bad! This was incorrect, Aspinall QF Winner plays MVG QF Winner in SF2.

Could be a cracker this one. Fancy Dimitri to cause a minor upset here

You sure? Aspinall seems to think MVG awaits him in the semi!

Aspinall doing his best to lose this one so far.

By far the better scorer though, so if he tidies up the doubles

I hate when commentators use the tired old “he’s not enjoying himself” line when someone isn’t playing well. Such lazy commentary

Van de Bergh with the most daft move of the match so far

Nathan not on a finish and he goes for Bull on 167 rather than setting up 3 darts for double 16

Cost him the set and maybe the match

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,762 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Aye Aspinall playing by far the better darts only 2 sets away from victory! Van de Bergh his own worst enemy atm.

4-1, Dmitri well and truly up against it here. His 3 Dart average is just not good enough for this level today.
