Does anyone know if they have ever before not used a panel? Like I thought being number 5 for my county and no9 for another I’d be a shoo in but it’s looking more and more likely they won’t be touching these panels at all and won’t extend either (if the PJ panel takes over in Dec).

They have pulled people off this panel, mostly Dublin when it was first created but a few vacancies elsewhere too. I had a great oom for my location and was confident I'd secure a place but you just never know with these panels.

The last update I asked for it specifically mentioned that the panel expires in early December unless its been changed. The next comp would be due along soon anyway I guess.

Got an update this morning. The panel is due to expire on 10th December 2020. There is no planned mass recruitment in the next couple of months for this panel.

Thanks for sharing. Was hoping it would be extended seeing as they haven't had anything about a replacement but they may just decide to pull from the recent general 2020 EO comp if needed instead.

I received an update on the 30th as well.

    "Thank you for your email.

At the minute I have not received any further update.

It should be considered as we enter November. It will be communicated to all candidates on the Panel if it is extended.

    Take care."

So still hope for it to be extended, I couldn't see them pulling off the main panel for these positions as they are slightly specialist and there has been no new campaign started.

They extended the open AP panel this year, but while not used regionally an awful lot of EOs started in January in dublin so might want a fresh batch. But perhaps they might want to take candidates who sat supervised tests and interviewed in person rather then online.I imagine there's lots of vacancies to be filled

I think the lack of recruitment is more disappointing than the panel expiring.
All we can do now is wait and see and if needs be apply again when it is advertised again.

I emailed them again on the 4th Dec to ask if the panel was extended and didn't get a reply...

I know someone offered a place this morning in Waterford. She was 4 on that panel I'm 9 didn't get anything... She reckons if they're sending out provisonal offers this morning they won't extend the panel. They'll just go with the people they sent offers to this morning ;-( I'm devastated because I'm 5 in another County and I heard nothing...

Would anyone know the 2% pay increase in October 2020 would that have been applied to the starting salary for this position or would it still be set at the €30,127?

The pay scale is adjusted in line with the public service pay agreements so whether you started before or after the 1 Oct, your salary would have been adjusted.

That's essential game over for those waiting, the next mass recruitment would be September 2021. I'd guess they wouldn't of rushed the offers out if they didn't plan on closing panel after year on 10th

I suppose, unless any offers are turned down due to the time elapsed.

They will likely sit on the panel until mid-late Jan anyways, if Brexit goes sideway they will need to move people around.
