    Am expecting 2-3k

€3k VRT bill means an OMSP of €57k. Which seems low for your car. But whatever bill you get, pay up and then fight it. Nearly everyone I've ever heard of who fought it got a refund.

What is the VRT like on these folks?

That would depend on what the OMSP of your car is deemed to be here. I.e. if you bought an early model S like a 2014 car for GBP29k and they assess the OMSP at €40k, you pay just €600 VRT

    Calculation: VRT = OMSP * 14% - €5k

I've paid VRT twice, first time in a Hyundai Coupe many years ago. Paid €600 VRT, argued the OMSP and got €200 back.

I didn't actually argue the VRT on my i3 REx, their valuation was pretty reasonable iirc.

I've argued vrt before and got zero zilch nothing but a letter from Wexford saying decision was final. Had a relatively decent case between older and newer model engine too.

Don't ever expect to win a refund battle. It could happen but don't rely on it.

The good thing about it having 150k km means I get a really substantial deduction for mileage

On a notional 2016 ipace, it was 6k odd with 10k km but 2750 odd with 150k km. Hence what Im basing my prediction on.

@ELM327 thinking of doing same as yourself in the next few weeks, on the Tesla UK used page it has this message:
    Domestic Sale Only

You acknowledge and agree that the Vehicle is sold to you locally in the country of delivery and that you shall not involve us in any export procedures and/or submit any related export documentation on our behalf. We reserve the right to cancel your order should you violate any of these obligations.

Was there hassle from them not wanting to sell to you? and do you have to do much extra work to make it possible to export?
    thanks!

No hassle from that at all, they use that disclaimer because they won't ship the car to you.
Other than that there's no issue. They even told me on the phone they would have the v5 in full ready for me as they know I need it to register.
Not an issue. Well, so far, will update on Tuesday evening or wednesday morning (more likely) when I have the car assuming all goes well!
